What was said?Listening to TDK on the afl website sounds like he’s taking a swipe at us.I suppose can’t blame him.
The year is 2027... We've lost Curnow, JSOS and TDK leaving a war chest of cash to spend... We trade up to nab Sullivan Robey with the picks left behind as well as matching a bid on Dean + Ison whilst also bringing in the experienced bodies of Florent and Hayward.
Zac Bailey or Zak Butters as a free agent in 2026 with all the spare cash... Would not mind the look of this team whatsoever.
Nic Newman - Jacob Weitering - Harry Dean
Ollie Florent - Harry O'Farrell - Lachie Cowan
Sam Walsh - Patrick Cripps - Campbell Chesser
Liam Reidy - Jagga Smith - Sullivan Robey
Zac Bailey - Hudson O'Keefe - Zac Williams
Ashton Moir - Harry McKay - Will Hayward
Adam Cerra - Cody Walker - Matthew Carroll - Jack Ison - Frank the Tank
St Kilda spin. Only reason anyone would mention the 'bayside lifestyle' is because they're trying to reinvent themselves as the South East suburbs version of Geelong.Listening to TDK on the afl website sounds like he’s taking a swipe at us.I suppose can’t blame him.
Its going to be impossible with the rule changeshmmm.... needs more Butler and Neocleous
Can only dream we do the smart thing and get the picks to make that happen... then by some wild luck have Butters join as a FA...
2027 IN: Walker, Butler, Neocleous, Butters

"From the outside you can see how tight this playing group is. There's a real determination to get the best out of themselves and each other, and I want to contribute to that.
"Players like Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, Marcus Windhager, Mitch Owens and a whole group of emerging players are showing what can be achieved when you're aligned and hungry for success. To join that environment is something I’m really looking forward to.
"The stability of the club, the quality of the coaches and the lifestyle the Bayside affords are also huge factors. I feel like this is the perfect place to challenge myself and take my footy to the next level."
Hi all, long time lurker first time poster.
FWIW, in short I see our trade window going something along the lines of
Curnow -> Swans for 1st, F1 and Florent with potentially a later pick heading back to Sydney.
3rd rounders this year or future or pick upgrades to WC & WB for Chesser & Khamis.
Hoping Elijah pulls his head in once and for all and makes the most of the opportunity afforded to him. We are a different side with him as that mid-fwd link.
TDK compo already on the table, is there a chance this forms the basis of a play for Humphrey? Not against bringing him in but also not as high on him as some others seen to be.
Potentially be able to draft with the Swans first if Charlie trade proceeds and Dean doesn’t receive a bid, then use SOS compo to match the most part of Dean bid, grab Ison and then rookie Gresham.
Anyhow excited for the coming weeks and keen to become a part of the forum
Cheers
Hayward and Florent are best mates and business partners. We've allegedly been in talks with both.Sounds about right but interesting that Hayward was quoted today saying he would be happy to be part of a trade. That's no coincidence.
So swap Florent for Hayward in that deal.
I also hope EH gets another chance somehow... by all reports he's already been given the boot though I think??
And I still think it's more likely Curnow remains at Carlton. Not against him leaving as his knee is looking like it's going to limit him for the rest of his career - just a matter of by how much. Took about 50% off him this year.
Its going to be impossible with the rule changes
A 1.8 million free agent hasn't existed before, this isn't case law, the AFL can give whatever pick they choose to, they could say for example with the net loss of TDK and Silvagni say O.K we will give you pick 10 and 11 to satisfy us. That's how the AFL works.

Would assume we'd be pushing for a package deal.
I don't see it happening. Teams will be holding on to those picks as strongly as they have in years. I also can't see Swans F1 being close to 8-12 if they have Curnow.Impossible? Nope...
Charlie -> 11 + F1
10 + 11 -> Demons F1
2027 F1 -> * F1
*F1 = pick 2-4
Demons F1 = pick 4-7
Blues 2026 1st = pick 5-9
Swans F1 = pick 8-12
FA -> Butters
Also Port will match any deal. You won't get Butters without trading for himI don't see it happening. Teams will be holding on to those picks as strongly as they have in years. I also can't see Swans F1 being close to 8-12 if they have Curnow.
Melbourne would feast on that offer, and Essendon wouldn't do the other deal. Your projections are nonsense. What are the players moving in these scenarios alongside? Are we getting anyone in other than the draftees?What's the matter Jimmae ? Needs more Acres + Gov + F2 for pick 10?![]()
Well that was kinda my whole point, when do we start taking actionWhat parallel universe are you living in where the AFL does anything to be fair to Carlton? After the best part of a decade in the bottom 4 our additional assistance was A) ridiculously late and B) completely inadequate.
Free agency compensation for Jarrad Waite was what? Zero. 120+ goals for North over 4 years.
We get our first top 3 father son on the horizon and immediately the AFL starts looking at scrapping the rule for 1st round for the first time ever... must be a coincidence right?
We live in a world where if we aren't getting completely reamed by the AFL we have to be grateful.
The out of contract player I really hope we have a massive play at for next year is Rylee West.The year is 2027... We've lost Curnow, JSOS and TDK leaving a war chest of cash to spend... The Bayside bubble is real trust meSt Kilda spin. Only reason anyone would mention the 'bayside lifestyle' is because they're trying to reinvent themselves as the South East suburbs version of Geelong.
I live in Bayside, ain't no way anybody is talking up the $28 avocado on toast prices for a regulation cafe in BrightonThe Bayside bubble is real trust me
Don’t think Rylee would leave especially if his brother Levi probably getting drafted next year I thinkThe out of contract player I really hope we have a massive play at for next year is Rylee West.
The key learning of this trade period maybe, Carlton can no longer attract "A" grade talent due to perennial mismanagement

Also, I assume his dad Scott isn't a complete tosser like another father-son combo I can think of.Don’t think Rylee would leave especially if his brother Levi probably getting drafted next year I think
