Lachie Neale the most notable one for me. 2 brownlows and a premiership mean while the Dockers haven't delivered at all since he left. Barely played finals while Brisbane was been contending for years. Darren Jolly another and Matt Clape as well as Jason Ball.

What about players who left and missed out? Treloar, Buckley, Ablett some big names. Buddy Franklin.
Neale laughing even harder now.

Ian Stewart won the Brownlow in his first year at Tigerland and won his 2nd premiership medal 2 years later

Josh Gibson is one more recent that comes to mind - won 3 premierships and 2 B + F's after crossing from North

If he stays at Brisbane, he's possibly a 5x premiership player
He wasn’t getting games or being used up there.

The very reason he returned to Hawthorn after 1 season, a Hawk assistant would send him edits of Lions behind the goal footage, showing how he was not being used, which sowed the seed for a return home.

Toby Nankervis wasn't getting a game at the Swans is now a 3x Premiership player and captain of the Tigers.

Jordan Clark, left and missed out on a premiership potentially. I think it is best that he left for his own football though as he was behind players like Duncan, Stewart, Zuthrie and Tuohy at the time. Has been given more opportunity and is now a gun and All Australian player.

Bachar Houli left the bombers for Richmond.

Shaun Grigg another one, leaving the Blues.

On the flip side, Brad Ottens wouldn’t regret leaving Richmond for Geelong.

I actually didn't realise he played in the '96 flag, I just assumed it was '99 but he didn't even get a game that year.

He was a very handy footballer, he had 2 season of around 400 touches and 40+ goals at the Cattery, he and Denham had a very good season together as our roving pair in '88.

There was allegedly a drunken incident with a coach's wife that played a part in him leaving.

Tom Harely. Left Port after only managing one game and went onto to be Geelong's most influential captain ever, a two time premiership captain and an AA. Has been the CEO of Sydney at a young age and now the COO at the AFL and will probably be the next CEO.

Charlie Curnow
Tom De Koning
Jack Silvagni

All went to teams with far better prospects of contending for premierships for the remainder of their careers.
