Traded Brandon Starcevich - traded to West Coast as part of a 3-way trade with Brisbane and Fremantle

Unlikely to be true as well. Brisbane need points, not picks. They also get nothing if Starcevich or Robertson leave.
Trying to get WC to move up on their offer of 23. I don’t see a reason for us to budge though.

23 is already way too high given the circumstances

Not a convenient development for those sticking to the tinfoil belief that the AFL generated the priority pick specifically for Brisbane.
I have no real feelings on the above. Wouldn’t have surprised me, but as it wasn’t tied Brisbane are free to try their hand.

Keeps it interesting at least

The PP not having to be traded makes it at least look like a negotiation now I guess

Given the dates these things need to be sorted by, WC literally just need to sit on their hands and see what happens

Let’s say Brisbane decide yep we actually only want to pay band 2 money for Oscar Allen. We then match. How does that actually benefit Brisbane?
They’ve lost all leverage for any comp for Starcevich, they have to pay for a forward - be it OA or someone else with picks they didn’t need to.

I understand trying to get maximum value and the art of a deal, but I’d be really annoyed if I was team WC here and the reported circumstances are genuine

Lucky I’m not a negotiator I suppose.

Draft picks outside the top 10-15 are grossly overrated IMO... Ah Chee and Starcevich are much better value than a speculative pick in the 20s.

Why would the Eagles list management be offering (as reported) around 900K per season x 5/6 years if they didn't think he was worth a relatively good pick for us? Possible concussion does not come into it when the Eagles are offering that length of tenure.

Probably not for a rebuilding club pre-Tas

Would say it’s about right value considering contract status, concussion issues, and position for Starc
Why would the Eagles list management
Who suck at their jobs
be offering (as reported) around 900K per season x 5/6 years
4+2 (or +1/+1) on games based triggers, vague protection against concussion issues but not all guaranteed money.
f they didn't think he was worth a relatively good pick for us?
A relatively good pick for you is a late first early second given it’ll just be chewed up by Annable or moved into next year for someone desperate enough to trade in.

Yes it does

Brisbane are trying to fleece WC by the sound of it.

BRISBANE will push to land West Coast's pick No.16 in a trade for Brandon Starcevich as negotiations trickle on between the clubs.
Lol, pick #23 is ample.

Agreed, they have to try I guess but the PP should be more than enough to get it done, and I suspect it will be in the end.

Looking at it just logically, if they offer Oscar Band 2, WC match and take Starcevich as an FA. They'll have to manufacture a trade for Oscar (or walk away I guess) and get nothing for Starcevich because of Draper

We can still work a trade with GC and take picks 1 and 7 to the draft. Still get Starcevich and either keep Oscar or get whatever Brissy want to trade for him

Our worst case feels a much better scenario than theirs but we'll see i guess

Umm, you honestly think Lions want the pick to get a player?

Mmm pick 16.

Noice Thats Nice GIF

No.

They want as high a pick as possible to match the bid for the top rated mid in the draft, and to have points left over for possible later bids for another 1 or 2 potential bids later in the draft.
Really? Bc every second bris fan has been saying they’ve already got all the points in the world to bid on Annable so there’s no leverage for west coast

Jack Martin and Tim Membrey can both attest to the PSD option as being not a myth. Although I agree that it’s unlikely to get that far, especially with WC’s draft hand this season. I would still rather WC offer some combination of later picks given 19 is likely to be eaten up by matching a bid on Annable.

Tim Membrey never went the PSD route mate.
