Looks like we are not getting a key defender in the trade. I am pretty sure Jordan Croft has all the attributes to be a topline defender. Height, reach, leap, speed and pedigree. The things he would lack next season is strength and experience.
If a move is planned, I would target Oliver Henry at the cats. He was not getting many games at the cats this season and may be gettable.
Listening to Regan today, it sounds like JOD and Buss are the long term and we are only pursuing a short-medium term stop gap. This is to reduce the pressure on them, so they can still develop naturally.Sounds like we pulled out - similar to Tylar Young. Club must rate Buss extremely highly, and are not just saying that to please the fans.
We need that and the Welcome to Bulldogs Connor Budarick thread asapMaybe we need a separate thread just for the trade period. This edition on trade and list management is already 127 pages and it started on 5th September.
Sounds good , but they won’t hit prime until Bonts winding down.Listening to Regan today, it sounds like JOD and Buss are the long term and we are only pursuing a short-medium term stop gap. This is to reduce the pressure on them, so they can still develop naturally.
With 5 on bench, Lobb can be 2nd ruck and defender if neededDoes Butts move the needle for us? Is he an upgrade?
I say yes.
Means Busslinger plays vfl though.
Likely third round pick for Marra

Just dropping into the Gold Coast trade thread on their board, there doesn't seem to be too much sleep being lost over Budarick's departure. The general view is that we are being sold a bit of a lemon, particularly if we think that he will fill a role as a lockdown defender. Not a great read, if I'm to be honest.
Sounds like cope. Fletcher Roberts and Hamling could've been considered lemons but they won us a flag so...Just dropping into the Gold Coast trade thread on their board, there doesn't seem to be too much sleep being lost over Budarick's departure. We need more lemons then!I would go even further and say at one point in their careers at least half that flag winning team would've been considered lemons.
To be fair, we would be s***canning a player leaving our club as well (with a few notable exceptions). Wouldn't expect anything less from them.
