2025 List Management Discussion - Part 4

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

My 2 cents, at the time Cordy was listed as 8-10 weeks with his pectoral injury. He was eligible to go on the lti list.

He'd have either needed to stay on the LTI list or be swapped out for another LTI - would've been Max - if he recovered after his injury.

I'm not saying it was a huge miss not having pick 5 in the MSD, but I do believe it was possible within the AFLs rules.
Except you have to be moved to the 'inactive list' which rules you out from any level for the remainder of the year. it is no longer the 'long term injury list' where you can swap players out for others.

Cordy came back and played at Sandy so was not a real candidate for the inactive list.

Caminiti and 2 x (future) FRP for N.Daicos. If we had a crack at Harley Reid, we definitely would've had a crack at Nick.
Lol Collingwood would ask for Nasiah. End of story, the only player that would get a trade done for Nick Daicos is him and he'd not going anywhere.

Daicos is gonna go to Tassie and eat up a huge chunk of that 5m signing bonus theyve been given

I'm happy to lose pick #7 for Flanders. As a nation of gamblers, we always tend to massively overrate what a draft pick might be worth rather than being realistic about what it actually is.

Some recent history on Pick 7 (or where it landed after FS/Academy bidding) sans last two years as it's too early to assess those players:

'22: Jhye Clark
'21: Josh Gibcus (unlikely we trade this year due to strength of draft)
'20: Archie Perkins
'19: Hayden Young
'18: Bailey Smith (superdraft, highly unlikely we trade this year)
'17: Hunter Clark
'16: Griffin Logue
'15: Sam Weideman
'14: Paul Ahern
'13: James Aish

I think it's fair to say Flanders for #7 is 2-8 on these years, noting that we almost certainly wouldn't make the same trade with a draft class like 2018.

Can't really imagine Jack Steele with a glass of wine. Maybe he likes churches?

If you are somebody of the calibre of Ro, you are not commuting from, say, Lorne (mid point) to Moorabbin 4-5 times a week. You don't need to. How far do you commute for work?
His commute is not our problem, we train at Moorabbin and play home games at marvel.

Where he chooses to base himself is his problem not the clubs, he’s contracted for two more years.
