Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

I honestly think unless Swans really give us something to think about, I'm talking Papley, Hayward & 1R and F1R then NO DEAL!

Charlie is an absolute needle mover and we can always wait until next year to cash in on him at a higher price...

Like SOS did with Gibbs those years back...

An A Grader for an A Grader, perhaps in a position where you have depth to cover that A Grader.

What is so hard for clubs to understand about that?
Entirely up to you what you want/would accept for Curnow from the Swans, but with regard with waiting '......until next year to cash in on him at a higher price...Like SOS did with Gibbs those years back...''

Can I paraphrase Kerry Packer and suggest You only get one Adelaide in your lifetime, and you've had yours.

Ainsworth. Met with and interested

Personally, believe Charlie trade will unlock several deals like this. Sydney very very keen

Club seems to be warming to idea but deal still needs to be good
Thx for sharing, mate. Ainsworth shouldnt cost much as a salary dump, youd think.

Swans public stance is all posturing, Id wager. We looking at a boring 2 mid first and WH plus OF?

Good trade for reiddy.

Happy that Walsh will be taking captaincy-

Given Cripps was reported a couple of weeks ago as saying Walsh was about 2 years from being ready to take on captaincy, does that suggest he is being pushed out of the position?

nek minnit freo comes calling😜

Good. Trade.

Hayward, Florent and Swans F1 rounders 2025/26 is a reasonable request for the club to make.
A good trade , two decent 26/27 year old footballers and guarantees Dean Walker two young guns.
Meanwhile leaving compensation picks to attract another decent quality player, which could be Ainsworth.
3 players for one this year - who do we move on?

They should look around. Their team is pretty stacked. Hard to break in to most positions.
That is a a bit fo a natural leveler between teams

yes, players wnat to play in a strong, winning team, but first and foremost they want to play

Only natural some players fall out, especially given who GC (and probabaly St Kilda too) are bringing in

It also depends on Charlie's ability to be a professional and return to the club with full motivation... I have severe doubts on this...
Maybe with a better coach who understands the importance of moving the ball quickly and scoring he never would have had a problem in the first place. I hear a lot about how bad the players attitudes were but not much about the negative attitude of the coaching dept, and it's hyper focus on defence.

I’ll never forget that play on around the corner in that game, literally cost us the game. Take 30 seconds and that game was over. He’s done it 10 times since.

I think the whole club has given Charlie a lot of leeway on and off the field over the years. Just put it down to Charlie being Charlie but he’s cost us as well at times.

He’s a bit of a space cadet let’s be serious !
Yet it was his game vs GC in 2023 that made us to the finals, where he single-handedly dragged us across the line.

I'll never forget that either.

Ainsworth is an interesting one. He and his partner absolutely love it up on the Gold Coast, but they have just had their first child (about 6 weeks ago), so that could be what's motivated Ben to look south - so they can be closer to family. Also, I'm not sure Dimma has Ben in his long term plans so that could also be a motivation.

Benny is a decent player, but can go missing for large portions of games. I too think he could go through the middle. His best couple of games he's played have been on the ball.

I'd imagine he'd be pretty cheap and if so, could be worth a punt. Don't hold your breath for a messiah though folks.

PS - his partner and her family are all Carlton nuffies, so if he ends up with us, they'll be stoked.
