So in the past 2 off-seasons we have removed lets say $800k (Macca), $700k (Caleb), $850k-$900k (Jamarra), $700k (Sniff), $500k (Liam Jones) while having Richards, Darcy and even English signed to below market deals. Obviously offset by some of the new deals we have done in that time but we would have much than enough space to offer Butters those $2m deals being put out there.

Some serious over valuing of Buku given he has yet to crack 50 games in 7 seasons and got overtaken as a forward by Croft in his second game.
I can understand the camp wanting to hold him considering we are losing key position depth this off-season but our history suggests we let him go without much fuss, like Lewis Young, Lipinski etc... We tend to have a great track record letting these types of guys move on.

We simply can’t let Buku go for pick 40, it doesn’t benefit us in any way. Unless we find another backup kpp we haven’t been linked to yet we’d find ourselves in a position where we’re two injuries to talls away from having to play guys like Coffield and Hynes as makeshift talls.

We’d end up getting similar value next year anyway and even if it’s less we’re still better off for having him on the list the extra year.

The deal will get done out of respect to Buku, the contract offer from the Blues might not be there next year.

Give May a year or 2 and see if he can do a Gunsten, worst case Jod and Buss learn how to defender 1 on 1 better.

He might be a w***er but he’s been bloody good over his career.
As anti-May as I’ve been if we can’t land another devolved KPD this is sadly what id do as well.

You can access the article if anyone is interested hope the club tells them were to go and we are not paying a cent

His manager, Robbie D’Orazio, will now negotiate a payout with the Bulldogs, but it remains unclear how much, if any, the Dogs would be willing to pay.

I’d be happy to pay some of Marra’s salary (considering we have plenty of cash right now) if it meant a better draft pick. But doesn’t sound like we are even interested in that.

Love the fact his manager wants to negotiate a pay out. We should pay absolutely nothing. He has more to lose than we do if he sits on our list and out of football for another year. His career would be over. After a year of paying him to do nothing, and the bad blood which has developed, feel pretty confident Power won’t pay a cent.

Suns want a whole new contact and to have his current contract torn up. So I don’t think it’s even a consideration. Plus it looks like they are only offering $300k-$400k per year, so it’s not like they need to financial help to make it work.

D’Orazio and Connors accepted their cut from the salary paid to Jamarra while he sat out playing.

I get that player managers have fidelity to their client but Power should laugh D’Orazio out of the room.
