Here's the only trade I would do, involving SDK:

Geelong give up: SDK, OHenry

St Kilda give up: Marshall, Future 1st

Carlton give up: Curnow

Port give up: Butters, Future 2nd ('26)

--

Geelong Get: Marshall, Curnow, Butters

St Kilda Get: SDK

Carlton Get: OHenry, F1 (Geelong 26') , F2 (Port '26)

Port Get: Pick 18 (Geelong), F1 (St Kilda '26), F1 (Geelong '27)

:D

I don't see them trading OH after bringing him in to play with his brother.

You mean the ITK posters who claimed Marshall deal is already done
ITK posters who claim it will involve a player

Just curious, because to me.
That only proves one thing and it’s they’re NITK
Not In The Know
Well I seem to remember this morning people having a dig at JJ specifically about Curnow - using posts from a journalist as a stick to beat him with and call him out because they’d said Curnow was more likely to end up at Sydney

But it seems his info, in some regard, was on the money. As this does seem to be a concrete offer.

Are the specifics exact? No. Clearly though, things do change (see Aleer) and are fluid

Ryan would have been budgeted for because it has been rumoured for ages. Aleer might have failed a medical. Pulling the pin this early in trade week is otherwise very odd.

St Kilda have courted and wined and dined Aleer for two years, so much so, that after the Giants lost their last game, he told the club and his teammates he was going to St Kilda, now SOS pulls the pin cos they used their 2nd round pick on Liam Ryan instead and dont have one for Aleer, not even a future 2nd.

Now they've screwed him.

Is Mitch Edwards just no where near it?

Physically no, not at the moment.
He needs to bulk up considerably if he is to be competitive in the ruck at AFL level.

So what?

Our trading strategy should NOT be dictated by Jack Henry’s feelings.

If sending O Henry somewhere else is the right decision for the club, then Jack will have to suck it up.
You just needed to throw a “princess” or “snowflake” in to make your post complete

Don't disagree in principle, but it's also crucial to keep the players happy and preserve a sense of 'team'.

F*ck it, let's do it. Curnow, Worpel, and Bruhn in and figure out the rest later.

I trust Chris Scott to have a plan. You can never have enough A-graders, even if the A-grader in question isn't positioned in your most pressing need.

It isn't.

SDK doesn't convince me in the ruck, and Neale is a beautiful kick for goal.

He has a lot to learn as a forward, but I'm not sure he'd be good as a defender.

Something has to give though because I'm not sure a forward line of Cameron, Neale and Curnow would work.
I wonder whether you could have Neale in the ruck for centre bounces and then have him drift forward, taking stoppages in the forward half and providing a good additional tall target while Blicavs takes stoppages in the defensive half.

Would also allow plenty of flexibility for Cameron to roam while Curnow plays more permanent inside 50.

Would be an interesting model that could be hard to combat.

Getting has to be accomplished , and Im not sure if 3R1 can do it…but

Id have little fear having Cameron, Neale and CC in the same side… None are really square bears. It would be interesting what it would do for some of our other forward options …but one cant worry about that. You add talent and then see where it fits.

Is the three 3r1 .. a bit different to what was floated here with Stengle?

I wonder if we ask bout Leek A now that Stk have pulled out.

as long as we add another player that can help in the ruck in 2026 , then focusing on CC rather than RM… sounds more damaging to me. ..even if its Goldstein for a year … then we have the ruck covered and it gives Edwards and the other young rucks more time to get ready

I am a strong believer that doubling down on your strength is a very sound strategy.

Make your strength such an advantage that it gives the rest of the league sleepless nights.

Lets go

Isn’t it?

He hasn’t been able to get a game for a couple of months, so not contributing on field recently. If he has currency, maybe there’s value there.

That’s beside the point though. The point is that if we keep him it’s because he’s a valuable part of our team going forward, not because Jack might throw a hissy fit if we trade him.
