Being a captain doesn't automatically mean you are worth a first round pick. What delusional pies supporters think that a 4 year contracted captain won’t cost us AT LEAST 1 future first round pick?

I really don’t want us to chase him. He’s an average player on way too much money and doesn’t have what we need in the midfield which is an injection of pace and contested ball winning. He’s worth whatever North determine Jen, he’s their captain and contracted for a further 4 years.
And also interesting it’s all alright for Trac to move clubs mid contract but not one of their own (GC).I don’t think it’s a stretch - his list manager came out and gave him a bit of a smack behind the ears with the “impetuous” line, to me indicates he’s pretty fed up with how it’s occurred
It’s not last touch!I think that game plan could change - the cost of conceding last touch free kicks may be to high.

Agree - so if you believe the above, then why won’t boundary hugging game plans not change?Last disposal isn't it? Don't think it'll have a huge impact. Players will mostly avoid kicking or handballing near the boundary and most already get called deliberate anyway.
Marc McGowan is a solid reporter and his North mail is usually spot on.Is anyone of actual relevance reporting the Simpkin news?
How often does it go out without being touched?Agree - so if you believe the above, then why won’t boundary hugging game plans not change?
I’m using the accepted language that everyone understands - except you it seems. It’s not last touch!
How can you not get this?
That's why l didn't want him at our club. GWS will be walking on egg shells with this bloke for 5 years, as all it takes is one bad week or weekend for this guy to go off the rails....Tbh I think this is the Giants achilles heel.
I reckon their leadership group is average, lead by a gun who isn’t a leader.
Let’s see how adding Oliver to the mix improves that side of things….
He doesn’t seem to fill a need, is massively overpaid and would cost a fair whack in a trade. Just can’t see it for usI don't think I've ever seen a more overwhelmingly negative response from Pies supporters all across the internet about a potential target.
Enough that teams will avoided it.How often does it go out without being touched?
The language is wrong!I’m using the accepted language that everyone understands - except you it seems.
You know what they say -We can trade our future first.
Hope we don’t though.
Not for a future first.I’m a yes to Simpkin on the assumption it’s an Oliver type situation where the Roos are picking up the tab on one side of the deal. I don’t think it can be underestimated how awful that environment has been for most of his time there and I’d be interested to see how he handles an environment that stimulates him ala the indigenous all stars.
I’m not buying it. Unless it’s a genuine salary dump Oliver styleHe doesn’t seem to fill a need, is massively overpaid and would cost a fair whack in a trade. Just can’t see it for us
Hmm - so it will be the first change the AFL makes that has no impact on tactics or strategy. The language is wrong!
Much like your analysis of the implications it will have to our game plan.
You said we won’t hug the boundary as much now because of the new rule.Hmm - so it will be the first change the AFL makes that has no impact on tactics or strategy.
I think you’re dreaming.
The Magpies had expressed interest in Melbourne onballer Clayton Oliver, but have now set their sights on Simpkin, who this masthead revealed last month was unhappy with his midfield time after finishing the season in a wing role.
Simpkin is contracted until the end of the 2029 season, so it would likely take a strong first-round pick to convince the Kangaroos to part with him.
Don't think so.Is anyone of actual relevance reporting the Simpkin news?
