Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

11, F1, Hayward, Florent plus a few of Geoffrey Edelsten’s old outfits he forgot to take with him when he left the swans.
Not the red and white Elvis one? Oh dog no.

My Guess:

Carlton give Charlie and 10

Carlton get Walter, Hayward, F1 Sydney, f1 GWS, 35,

GWS give F1 and 35, 37 and get 7, 52

Gold Coast give walter, 7, 52 and get 10, 11 and Rowbottom.

Sydney give F1, 11, Hayward, rowbottom and get Charlie and 37

Will play round 1 as will all our recruits. Were building depth through the moneyball theory which I’ve used quite a few times our list was unbalanced due to paying big stars we can now go into 2026 fresh and void of players creating cultural issues.

Extremely excited and this swans deal will be monumental if the rumours are right.
What's the rumours?

You know what I love? What I ****ing love?

The fact that we're losing the likes of TDK, Jack and a generational forward in Charlie and still have our heads held high and are genuinely proud of the way our club is going about this.

A lot of clubs would sink in moments like this, hell, Carlton from even last year probably would have, but here we are, UNITED as a TEAM. All of us.

Bloody proud of this club, now just finish the deal with Charlie and let's look forward to what I genuinely believe could be one of the more exciting years we will have had.

Jagga & Newman as basically new recruits, another preseason into Lord and the like, a bunch of young, hungry players chomping at the bit for a fair go at it. I'm so ****ing ready.

Hows that for a 180.

He didn’t want to leave Victoria when he was first drafted… and now he’s not too keen on coming back!
To be fair to Ollie he never kicked up a fuss about relocating.

He lost his dad, at the age of 45, in August of his draft year, after a 3 year battle with bowel cancer.
The family unit then became, he, a younger sibling and Ollie's mum.
The Swans met with his Ollie and his mum and made it clear they wouldn't draft Ollie without his mum's approval.

To their credit never once was the homesickness card played, even though the circumstances would have been extremely difficult.
Ollie is now an ambassador for the Jodie Lee (Bowel cancer) Foundation.

So by all means debate Florent's ability, but if he were to join Carlton you would be getting a very solid citizen, from a bloody good family.. :thumbsu:

(And no not related). :)

Yeah, but we also have to throw in a dump truck load of Charlie’s crew merchandise and a couple of buckets of red paint. Austin confident that he can negotiate on them down to one bucket of paint though.

& congratulations to whatever is considered the Football media this week.

Generally I consider Spring Carnival week the Apex of utterly unqualified people with a tenuous grasp of whatever is happening in their relevant area of expertise, giving their opinons.

But this week has surpassed it.

Footy!!!

Still comes down to visit his family regularly. Was down last week according to my best mate who grew up next to his Grandma. Lovely guy.

I’m a big supporter of Austin so I’ll start by saying nice work on the Chesser deal.
However, the Ainsworth deal is bloody disgraceful … very disappointed !!
Time to bring home the bacon for Curnow, Nick 😡
You do realize he had 3 years to run on his GCS contract that he only re-signed last year?
So what, you want other teams to pay us massive overs because Charlie is contracted until 2029, but we just offer up peanuts for a goal a game small forward (a position where we well under-performed) and not expect to pay contract-tax?

The likelihood is we'll struggle next year, but I am all in on the cultural reset and stopping the perpetual tail wagging the dog mentality that has plagued this club for decades.

I honestly don't see why we would struggle anymore than we did this season tbh.

Jack barely played, TDK checked out at the half way point and Charlie had his worst year.

We've replaced them with less talented, but more committed players, on top of that having a fit and raring to go Jagga and Newman and on top of that I genuinely think the players left are more united than ever on the Vossy front.

I have faith.

There were thoughts BA was out due to Petracca in both up forward and the salary cap implications. A salary dump hence we were doing a solid with GCFC to take a high paid player off their books.

Can’t see it being that straight forward……..

Agree mostly but ….

I have a bit of a concern with ruck. Pitto ok/good but lacking in general play.

Not sure of good reidy is/will be

As I posted the other day (got via Footy Manager) Swans are working on deal that will blow us away.

It’s getting close. I now expect it to happen
godfather GIF

Sydney Swan's offer for Charlie may be in the vicinity of :- Picks 11+F1 2026 + F2 2027 7 & McIerney and Florent.
A very good outcome for CFC.
GW & CD or any other professional, serious operators would have not accepted the mayhem, we just had to refresh and rest its cultural environment.
