Tell me you haven't been on the Cockle Train without telling me you haven't been on the Cockle trainVictor wouldn't be my first place to holiday to if I was living in Sydney lol.
We do have a thing for Sydney lads. There's more of a chance of me getting with Dua Lipa than there is of Chad Warner coming here.
Yeah but did you see the club’s feel-good video of the playing group’s reaction to Schoenberg being selected?? That’s what really counts. The look that Davis gave Nicks in the box when HS kicked it OOF against collingwood.
It said everything.

That was my point - Peatling is listed as someone we could have taken over Parnell. Instead we busted with Parnell who never looked like he could compete physically at AFL level and it cost us a future second pick (and loose change) to bring Peatling to the club three years laterPeatling wasn’t ours, GWS took him in that draft.
I think this encapsulates what sets coaches at the top level apart. The ones who are prepared to take risks and be bold are more likely to reach the ultimate success rather than the safe and steady. This is my gut feel on it, not anything specific under researchSo remember when we gave Curtin some CBAs and he did well, went in for the last qtr against Hawks in a pivotal time. Then nothing……
We've tried and been burnt so many times with smaller under developed players, I'm not sure why we keep repeating that mistake. That was my point - Peatling is listed as someone we could have taken over Parnell. Blight said he would have played Fog in the middle before the Hawks gameI think this encapsulates what sets coaches at the top level apart. Which would have been a poor moveBlight said he would have played Fog in the middle before the Hawks game
and organic growth.....The draft period thus far
I think I will remember the abhorrent treatment of Leek Allir
Unless something else falls from the sky ( thanks Reid)
For us it might be, but the Allir stuff will bother a lot more people.and organic growth.....
May have been, we don’t know, that’s the point, Nicks is too safe, he’s not a coach, he’s a managerWhich would have been a poor move
Of course as it should. His treatment was extremely disgusting and there should be some consequences for it, but I expect there will not be, at least officially. For us it might be, but the Allir stuff will bother a lot more people.
Yep no arguments from meMay have been, we don’t know, that’s the point, Nicks is too safe, he’s not a coach, he’s a manager
Could he be our White Whale?Whales mate . Whales!
Regardless, he would have mixed it up and left nothing in the locker come the end of the game so if we still lost, it would have been because the opposition were better, no regretsWhich would have been a poor move
Fog was poor in the back half of the year, how about we give guys like Taylor and Curtin a run who are actual mids.Regardless, he would have mixed it up and left nothing in the locker come the end of the game so if we still lost, it would have been because the opposition were better, no regrets
What is it that everyone sees in Rachele as a mid? Feel like this is way over hyped and can't see him being anything more than a forward that spends 5 mins occasionally in there. Not sure hes the Gun mid were after, hope I'm wrong though.Nah. Not a natural ball winner. He's never shown he's capable of getting enough of the ball to be a mid.
Rachele on the other hand.
I don;t think anyone is suggesting Rachele is a gun mid full time but he is definitely a gun forward that is very very capable in the midfield on a part time basis. What is it that everyone sees in Rachele as a mid? He was and yep give those lads a run through the middle, but getting Fog into the action would have been worth a shot too, it was all too familiar.Fog was poor in the back half of the year, how about we give guys like Taylor and Curtin a run who are actual mids.
He makes things happen when he goes in there. What is it that everyone sees in Rachele as a mid? Feel like this is way over hyped and can't see him being anything more than a forward that spends 5 mins occasionally in there. Not sure hes the Gun mid were after, hope I'm wrong though.
Yes and as he got older, Hewitt could not do it anymore against the top players. He was and yep give those lads a run through the middle, but getting Fog into the action would have been worth a shot too, it was all too familiar.
If I was giving a tennis analogy, we are like Leyton Hewitt, one game plan and that was to out rally his opponent and when the opponent was better at it, he lost. We need a Pete Sampras, can change up the game at a moments notice when plan A is not working.
He fades in the 2nd half of the season, not a slow starter.Soligo also needs to start having first half impact when the game is there to be won
He seems to be a slow starter and works into a game
we need more from him
The stats suggest he really should be considered as a full time midfield prospect.I don;t think anyone is suggesting Rachele is a gun mid full time but he definitely a gun forward that is very very capable in the midfield on a part time basis.
