Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

So where do we think the next rumour will be from?

Round of Golf? Dinner?

Mate of a mate at a family function?

Definitely dinner

Oh, totally. Im livid with Charlie, his mgmt and annoyed at the trend of signing long term contracts then turning around after one or two years and wanting to leave. Player power and AFLPA is out of control.
Agree. Player power is out of control now.

They have free agency to do what they want. Clubs give overs in these long term deals to try to keep them. Then they request trades anyway.

Clubs need to start adding into these long term deals the ability to trade them out to wherever they like.

Put a bit more power back into the clubs hands.

Want to take a 6 year deal then take the piss after 2 years. Bye bye, we're sending you to West Coast

If Geelong want Curnow, I'd have Gryan Miers as minimum for a trade. Or Max Holmes.

Somehow doubt they would consider trading either....

As for Sydney, Gulden or Hayward, or I don't want it.

Im pretty sure you, me and everyone else here wont have a say in it!! 😆

if we get 2 firsts as part of the deal

Is it more likely that

A) we use TDK compo and Sydney first to move up to eagles or Richmond pick, get a young kid before dean

Or

B) trade one of those TDK compo or Sydney pick into next year, and the other moves down for more points for Dean and ison, may even help us with khamis

Getting fat on F/S and Academy then having your President take over the AFL and promptly **** up other clubs' access to this pathway is also a bonus. Plus him conjuring a first rounder out of thin air so your club and West Coast can play mutually beneficial trade period games.

I dunno why GC has to cop the tag of the AFL's nepo baby - it's clearly Brisbane.
AFL wouldnt surprise me if they return to father son structure as it is now in a couple of years because the cats have a couple of top ten father and sons coming thru .
They are constantly moving the goal posts
Very amateur way to run a business Where no club can plan properly plan yrs ahead cause of this Mickey Mouse organisation

I’m at a loss trying to figure out the EH situation.

Article today was a bit of PR. But it also was refreshing to hear that he’s owning his demons and trying to correct his life.

Yes I agree some things were left out, but, if he has done the rehab, thats ownership.

Name me the last player who has acknowledged and put his soul out in the public forum like this?

EH saying he wants to repay the club and team mates who’s he’s let down is just words, but words that will haunt him for life if he doesn’t live up to it.

Why would the club allow him to play last couple of games in the 2’s if his papers are stamped?

My wish is he stays and honours his words. Bloke has talent unlike most on our list.

He will become my favourite player if he gets it right.

A based on the two F1 will be enough for Cody

The last player who talked about mental health like that is Bailey Smith at the All-Australian awards night.
Talked about being in a mental health facility and his struggles.

I wish Smith all the best for his mental health challenges and it would be difficult being under the spotlight he is under… but he is still a massive knob and isn’t showing too many signs of growing up, and it seems like he could even be a destabilising influence at the Cats. I wouldn’t want him at Carlton even if he is a fantastic player.

So I can also understand the clubs position as well. Have to place trust that GW, Davies and Voss know what they’re doing.

You're right. Nothing stopping them from taking all those firsts Geelong offered
That would a terrible outcome. However, I suspect that wont be their only offer..

Agree mostly but ….

I have a bit of a concern with ruck. Pitto ok/good but lacking in general play.

Not sure of good reidy is/will be
They'll each play a certain number of senior games during the year is what I'm thinking. I'm not concerned about the rucks, it really isn't consequential. I'm happy with not investing a ridiculous amount of salary cap into a ruckman.

EH is not in the same boat as that madrat.

Smith is taking the piss after owning up.

From what I’ve heard, Walsh is speaking up for EH to the club and is offering to let Lij stay at his house to help him stay on the straight and narrow if the club retains him. I think that he, Lij, was shocked when the club to find a new home. And from what someone has said, even his own brother doesn’t want to share a house with him.
