Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Let's get a little crazy

Swans trade Rowbottom to the Pies for their future first.

Offer us Pick 11, Swans Future 1st, Pies Future 1st and Florent

We turn around and trade Pick 10 and 11 for Bailey Humphrey.

Obviously much can go wrong, but are you Happy with Charlie and 10 for two future firsts Humphrey and Florent

If Rowbottom is talking to Collingwood, it means we dont want him otherwise if we did he would be part of the Charlie deal. Same as Florent. So if we asked them to get us more picks, who are the players gonna be ? If it’s not Hayward, Rowbottom or Florent. For the record i dont want Rowbottom or Florent really. I want Hayward, McDonald as we need medium to tall forwards. Along with the picks of course. Or maybe we are asking for more 1st rounders that Rowbottom and Florent may get so we can package to get up the draft and or on trade for players at other clubs if Sydney have no players we want ?

I don't really want Hayward or any of those guys.

If JUH goes to GC I'd hope we would be chasing Walter and use the currency from Syd to get him.

If we end up with Walter and a couple of decent picks I'd be happy.

Although I think I rate Walter higher than most. I think he'll end up a star.

Can you give me the sales pitch on Robey? Is he a good forward?

I just don't get the hype and I definitely don't see him as a fit for us.
He's a mid/fwd who's shot up to 192cm with a late growth spurt. Started the year playing as a high half forward for Rowville and after starring there got onto a CTL squad. Played a few games as that leading high half forward role and then late in the year got released into the midfield where he pretty much annihilated every team he came across starting off with a 40 & 3 game playing on ball. Extremely athletic, can play as an on baller and as a genuine lead up target when he rests forward and he loves trying to hurt blokes when he tackles and bumps.

Spacial awareness isn't up to scratch for an inside mid just yet (no surprise given he's hardly played there), gets his kicks smothered a bit and his hands in tight tend to be a bit hit or miss. With more exposure to the elite pathways he just went from strength to strength though so most expect him to have significant improvement left in him when he gets to an AFL program over the pre season.

Easily the most upside of any draft prospect this year if we're talking athletic profile. He's also dual sided.

Been compared a bit to De Goey and Petracca at this stage.

I don't think Humphries is worth

Humphries isn't worth that much

Some concerns about Hayward starting to form here. I see him very much as a Jack Martin replacement. Forward craft and good hands.

I see Moir as a forward/midfielder and still a slow burn.

I see Kemp as a third tall, and occasional second tall.

McKay, Kemp, Hayward, Ainsworth, Motlop and another KPF fill in.

I've actually got Moir as the guy everyone wants Bailey Humphrey to be for us.

Can never be trusted again, a long contract could bring in complacency and give him a licence to **** up again. Not going to give him the protection of a contract and the opportunity to do that. Take the one year contract for the rest of your career or be traded.

Great, then we finally get something and get something potentially good for him as opposed to getting nothing for him this year.

Never trusted again, holy Toledo Batman.

Do you expect him to be part of the Swans offer?

I'm warming to the idea of picking him up. Partly to stop the Pies from getting him, but also because he has mongrel.

I really don’t know who. All I have got is that Swans really want Charlie and will offer us something straight off we will be very happy to take. Swans are very aware of what our needs are and what we are targeting

Would not surprise me if they’re waiting to see if Charlie stays to make a decision on Elijah.

Probably don’t want them both on the list next year, given the word about both of their approach to professionalism and all that.

Give me the bloke who has made mistakes and wants to redeem himself over a bloke that seemingly wants to leave for more money any day of the week.

You mean this Guy ..

I prefer Jed Walter anyway. It would be like Charlie Curnow never left.

Yep ... has won me over. I'm all in. :thumbsu:

Takes Saad's spot at halfback for me.
I for one think Florent will come back and bite us in the ass, he's a decent player and by the sounds of it on a bigger contract then he deserves say this reset works and we sky rocket into the top 8 in the next 2 years we don't want this blokes wage stopping us from being able to get a good player that wants to come and we can't afford like houston this year

I have no doubt he’ll be very serviceable at the very least and most likely a star, it’s ridiculous how much talent Goldy have on their list

I don't think we should be blaming Williams. Our club offered the contract. He has performed as well as his body has allowed him to. I'm sure he is just as disappointed that he hasn't lived up to the club's or his expectations. There doesn't seem to have been any issues with his attitude just injuries and maybe everyone was wearing rose coloured glasses when he came to us. I thought he was a relatively bright light this year in the forward line. Don't know about the pay but I think he certainly earned his place in the side this year.

I don't blame Williams or any player for getting the most coin they can.

re his attitude, well we sold the idea of him becoming a mid and he turned up unfit. Then he never developed his engine after that either.

The reality is, he has not lived up to the $ we've paid him... just like Gov and Cerra...

And Oliver?
Or is that only on his similar meteoric late season rise?
