Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

This was before NAS. They have the cash to force a trade.

This is true. And a trade for Butters would be 3 first rounders +.

I thought the same, when the Ainsworth trade went through. Not sure we needed to use a 2026 R2, but then I thought, we have some sort of in-principle agreement with Sydney to cover it.

I would say there was no consideration or agreement in place to getting a RD2 26 pick back. It's not a massive need for us. Don't forget it's a pick in the 30s next year.

Pick in the 30s for Ainsworth was fine.

However I do agree that the swans must have some sort of assurances from Charlie's management, otherwise they wouldn't be going to this sort of effort.

The Cats wouldn't be silly to lay all their cards on the table with their first offer.
So much would go on behind close doors.
No one knew Durdin was being traded,next minute he's gone to Port,all made public in only a few hours over social media. The trade would've been brewing for months within the club though.
Seems Sydney are trying to trade out contracted players,GC are doing the same to free up space and meanwhile crickets in regards to any Cats players being traded out.

Looks to be nothing more than a change of coach and the new coach having a different opinion of his worth to the team and possibly looking at younger options for his role.

I know the media love mega trades and a lot of them never materialise. However, could we see a trade that involves Carlton giving up the TDK pick and Curnow, Melbourne give up Petracca and Oliver, and both Sydney and Gold Coast up a mix of players and picks. Could enable our TDK pick make its way to Melbourne to form the backbone of what Melbourne gets for Oliver and Petracca. We get future picks from both Sydney and Gold Coast (including multiple future first round picks) and players from both clubs for Curnow and the TDK pick.
