Might need to do some research and see when the last time (if ever) a team with 19 and 20 y.o. key forwards won a premiership.
Been all the way back to WW2 and Essendon (1962) had the youngest pair with Ken Fraser (22) and Charlie Payne (17). Closest in the AFL era is the Dogs 2016 team with Zaine Cordy (19) and Tom Boyd (21).

Solid warning there not to get too carried away with young players.

There's a wonderful 38 minute video from Jessica Kiss about last year's premiership on YouTube that most of us would have seen. I watched it again on Friday night and it's still sensational. She left a comment saying that there's one from this year's flag in the works.

So keen for the sequel! By far the best premiership content last year.

Really looking forward to seeing it! If it’s anything like last year’s, it’ll blow away anything our media department has put out. That video was next-level.

Putting on my tin foil hat here... Chris Scott's complaining about his sub situation with Cameron's arm and being unsure about when to sub was a Freudian slip... it was in fact a subconscious complaint that he didn't have a tactic for Neale being our sub!

Watch some of these last quarter last night. Noticed that Cameron was still on the ground with about four minutes to go and Cats ten goals down. This was after Cameron seemed to reinjury his arm with that run down of Fletcher.
Master coach leaves best player on field with broken arm just in case he suddenly kicks ten goals? Surely you get him off the ground to be sure there is no further injury.

Massive mistake by the Scott, should have taken Cameron off for Jack Martin when he was on the bench for 20 minutes.

Would not of made any difference though, there was no stopping our mauling of the Cats.

How’s it feel to be Jack Martin, Chris would rather have a bloke with a freshly broken arm than you on the field. Ouch.

Jack will have to put up with just having the millions of dollars Carlton paid him for no real impact.

😂

Alright....a few weeks on a few thoughts...

This year's premiership was more enjoyable than last year's - fck it was satisfying and the players looked to know that too. All our key boys became 2 time premiership players which is something that can never be taken off them.

Last year was more relief, elation and surprise.

Buuut last year's game has so much more re-watch value. I can watch that game 1000 times but this one...the first half is an arm wrestle then we crack it open. Charlie's goal, Neale's goal and Rayners tackles are the highlights (before party time).

Thoughts?

Still crazy looking at that premiership side with guys like Bruce, Marshall and Gallop in the side

Hard to believe the quality and depth in our squad
The crazy thing is that despite losing Starce and Ah Chee, we still have gotten stronger by adding Allen and Draper.
Neale, Lester and Zorks are the only two you could expect to start falling off a bit. All our other guys are in the ages where they either should improve or maintain what they have been doing.
In an ideal world, in our push for finals next year we could have the following walk up starts available:
Jarrad Berry
Kiddy Coleman
Eric Hipwood
Jack Payne
Noah Answorth
Oscar Allen
Sam Draper

If things go well you could potentially add:
Linc McCarthy
Tom Doedee
Dan Annable

Then there is the young/inexperienced guys who you would expect to improve even more:
Sam Marshall
Jaspa Fletcher (who could be anything)
Will Ashcroft
Levi Ashcroft
Logan Morris
Ty Gallop
Bruce Reville

BT said we had 31 guys last year on our list that could come in and make an impact. He understandably wouldn't have counted Ty, we lost Ah Chee and Starcevich but are gaining Allen, Draper Annable pushing that list to 33 players which is so far above anyone else. The list management job team has done amazing work. Premierships are won on the back of squads and your bottom 5-6 players in your best 23.

Providing a ready-made selection of not-quite best 23 on our list to come and play guaranteed games with us pitches from other clubs... with Lester and Dev providing the pros and cons of hanging around despite not getting games atm.
