A good question.

Amartey has probably shown the most and is the best of the 3 right now, but historically he misses too many games with injury.

McLean the best 2nd ruck/forward option. Had zero preseason and struggled all year.

I still think McDonald will eventually be the best of the three, up until this year he looked the more durable option.

My guess is Charlie in will certainly push one of them out of either the team or the list , otherwise maybe Logan could go down back (which was the whisper earlier in the year) but who knows in all honesty as
we apparently wanted to keep Jack Buller on top of that before he requested the Pies trade
McLean would be a great pickup for someone like North.

Support for both Larkey and Xerri

I'd rather back in Neale rather than squander these picks

I think most Cats fans would too.
Back in Neale, people don't realise how young he actually is.

Marshall is a far bigger priority than dealing with the Blues who are gonna ask for the World.

Go time indeed. No doubt it is him doing his due dilligence on Sydney but also drives home how serious he is to get out.
One day we may find out why 3 best 22 players all wanted out at the same time. Voss can't be happy having a weaker team surely.

Graham Wright is a seasoned operater so there will be a plan.

You're talking nonsense again.

Some fringe player isn't going to be the paperweight that turns an early 20s pick into top 10. It had to be a best 22 player and none have come forward, and they're not tapping anyone on the shoulder.

Hence the free run at him the Swans now possess.

A 6yo could work that out.

TDK was offered close to a MILLION a year extra to leave.
SOS got a much better deal to go to where his Dad is.

What would your Team do if a player wanted double what they were offered to stay?

Carlton circa 2023-24 players left, right and centre waxing lyrical about re-signing for Carlton and taking unders to stay.
Carlton circa 2025 and 3 in the best team want out, two for cash.

your 6yo analysis of more money is shallow. Good players who are best 22 don't want out of good programs for the extra cash that some of your fans mock as being at "rabble" St.Kilda.

Otherwise we'd have a plethora of good players leaving good programs to lower sides as FA. In the 15 years or so of Free Agency 4 players have joined bottom 4 clubs. 4.

Incredible how they do it. They are essentially talking players into leaving.

It works out if a deal actually gets done. Could end up with Carlton with a pissed off Curnow on their hands and the Swans stuck with a handful of players that don't feel wanted at the club. At least when you offer draft picks they are nameless and faceless and there is no fallout to deal with afterwards.

Right, so a quality role player? More than fine with that with a package of picks to go with him.
Mate it’s for ****ing Curnow not some mediocre C grade forward.

The fact that Carlton is seemingly going to relent here and trade away Curnow for this package is deadset laughable and says a lot about how poorly run the club is

I have no doubt at least 2/3 would have wanted to stick around if the club wasn’t in such disarray all year

Yeah i get that for sure. I think theres enough discussion around it now that it likely gets done.

Carltons forward line could be really exciting if Hayward lands there.

I think it lands something like this:

Carlton give: Charlie Curnow, 2026 2nd round pick
Carlton get: Pick 11, 2026 first round pick, Will Hayward

Hayward is worth a first rounder on his own. No question.
Curnows worth far more than a B grade medium sized forward, a first rounder in a shit draft and a first rounder that will be end of round once the Swans finish top 4 with Curnow.

Won’t matter though. Obviously there’s still moron galore running list management at Carlton.

The deal with Sydney will be made up of three 'shekels', my preference is for two players & one first rounder.

The players I'd like are Campbell & McInernay but I'm guessing that Haywood and maybe Rowbottom could be in the mix as possibles. Yes, Florent's name has been thrown up but he would be an extra in the deal, not the key component.

The club has knocked back three first rounders from Geelong which shows they are after readymade players instead.

Forget about it.

The club’s clueless and is rolling over any second now to clog up our cap space with Will Hayward and Ollie Florent.

Where is Carlton going to find a 2026 2nd round from?

There are no guarantees Wright and Davies will accept Pick 11 + F1 and Hayward. But one assumes it is strong enough to get the Blues to talk.
