Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Don't worry about Charlie leaving, who 'won' the trade, Florent, 2nd round picks etc. etc.

Worry about the following 2 things because it's all that REALLY matters:

Coaching
Injuries

I think the CLub is absolutely killing it this off season - a very fast reset going on giving the coaches and players a new environment to work with and in.

Love it.

At very least we are fleshing out the middle age group which was almost non-existent.

I would have been looking at Amiss. Was said to be unhappy with his role in the forward line at Freo. I reckon he would be a more than solid contributor with a reset at a new club.

Florent is an ok player, but isn't what we need. I see him as stunting the growth of Charleson and Carrol who should surpass him in time. Even Big Footy favourite Billy Wilson would be further back in the pecking order if Florent came. Sure we need to raise the floor, but you also need to be able to give opportunity to youth or they just end up wasting a spot on the list (i.e. Lemmey)

I know what you mean but I’m happy taht these kids will have time to develop in the twos

Also, we know they can play so provide good depth for us when those seniors are injured or out of form

It’s a physically grueling game - giving them time to develop, especially when not exceptionally skilled, can only be a good thing

Kids in a strong system earn their spot, rather then having to step up before they are ready.

Many at club see HOF as a potential key forward

Personally long term i think he will be more a ruckman who can rotate play forward, still young and raw but looks very promising …

I don’t think we need another key forward to partner McKay.

Kemp and Moir can both play tall and deep.

Might stop the bombing down the line model.

We don't need a partner necessarily, but we do need a back-up. HOK possibly fits the bill but I'd love another one developing.

Makes us much less predictable.

We’ll only be less predictable if the coaches implement proper leading patterns for our forwards and they follow instructions. Additionally we’ll only be less predictable if our mids and half backs actually lower their eyes and hit leading players and kick into space rather than high and long to a contest, again coaching comes into this too - will the directives and instructions change on how we enter F50?

Just because we move on Charlie and bring in smaller forwards it doesn’t automatically make us less predictable, could end up being we are a worse predictable team cos out method doesn’t change and now don’t have Charlie. Big watch on how the team is coached and our ball movement.

Graham Wright and Chris Davis have stopped the rot, at long last well begin the resurge on more grounded foundations.
Best is yet to come, I’m excited about 2026. After the turbulence and bitter upheaval of the last few months, the horizon is brighter, filled with more positive expectations. We’ve endure plenty over the 2 decades and more but we love and support our Baggers always.

We can certainly play chaos ball with errant kicking into the forward line..

Somethings not right when we actively denigrate our A grade champion forward but pump up another teams C grader to make the trade look like a good deal.

Is he really 'our' a grade champion of he wants out and plays like it? More importantly, what actually makes him a champion in your opinion? He can be great and can be equally terrible. For mine, champions lift in big games. Charlie has yet to prove this is a trait of his.

It is ... but in this case it is a wasted trade as the ones I mentioned will surpass Florent in no time and then we will be stuck with him. They are also on minimum chips, so Florent is just the wrong target for us.
