Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

George Hewett didn't feature in the Swans B&F top 10 in the year prior to us picking him up as a DFA from memory.

We got Hewett as a restricted free agent. Sydney didn't match and were given end of 2nd round as compensation. He was 25 and had played 120 games for Sydney.

He finished 2nd in Sydneys BnF in 2019 but was not top 10 in 2021 (Buddy finished 10th).

Yeah, if we only intend to have sufficient list spots for 3 draftees and we’re keen on Dean and Ison for two of them, then it might be somewhat academic if we have 22 or 32.

Though if we could convert 10, 11 and 22 into something like 5, 15 and 35 that would be a better fit for us.

Car get: 11, 32, F1 (Syd), F2 (Syd), Hayward. Give or take Florent.

22 sliding to 32 is countered by a swap of future picks.

Would need to get past the AFL's rule on keeping a F2 when giving away F1, but they'd have to F3s.

Yep! He’ll slot in very nicely on our wing!

I don’t see the same issue as many re our midfielders - nothing wrong with being a dominant contested ball team. The issue is the quality of our receivers - we don’t get bang for buck, nowhere near it.

Better footballers/users/runners on our wings and back flanks and that contested ball performance will equal goals.

If you like a player with disposal efficiency of 70.1%, you would love a winger with a disposal efficiency of 72.4%...... oh wait.....

I think an early second-rounder for Hayward is about right.

The following won't happen because I think Carlton are in a position where Curnow's time at the club is untenable (Syd probably knows this too), but Carlton should tell Syd that they will only accept this deal with NOTHING going back. Not even pick in the 90's. It's either that or nothing.

If Syd refuse then it's a case of them having to explain to their supporter base that they missed out on CC because of pick 22 that will end up being even later.

Also you need to be careful comparing different offers for Merrett and Trac. Teams value different assets based on their own strategies and will only concentrate on fulfilling them (not 'winning' trades). Clearly our strategy is father sons and experienced B graders that can fill some on field needs right away.
