Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Walker, Jagga, O'Farrell, Dean, Ison, Cowan, Moir, Ollie, Lord, Carroll, Wilson, Charleson, Campo x2..

That's a pretty good crop of youth. If we somehow add in Humphrey then I really think we have a lot to look forward to in the coming years. Even without, that group of talent is exciting.

The saddest thing for me is Lij. I really hope we give him one last chance and he takes it and repays us. He has so much talent. Other's may not agree with this part but losing him for nothing would suck.

I learnt from Dylan Shiel fiasco a million years ago not to ever get my hopes up again (yes, I know, we dodged a bullet, but still, at the time it was the big deal that was gonna make or break the club).

So, I refuse to accept that Bailey Humphrey is coming to Carlton. I don’t want to sob at my desk when the reality hits and he’s staying at GCS or moving to the Dees.

Humphrey has struggled with genuine mental health issues in the past. It's something hes spoken about and is a spokesperson for.

I wonder if it would cause GC to take his "personal reasons" for going home a bit more seriously, then normal. Obviously, hard to say without knowing all the ins and outs.
And to be honest, not sure coming to play for us in Melbourne helps with that, but maybe being closer to home does

My question is if we trade curnow what am I meant to do with my 1 year old son who I named Charlie. Should of named him Harry.
I have 20 month old twins, had they been boys i reckon i would have twisted the mrs arm to name them Charlie and Harry. Thank god we had girls. Another twin family who live close by to us did name their twin boys Charlie and Harry - completely oblivious of the Carlton connection though haha.

I have trained the girls to point their finger in the air and say 'Charlieeeeee' though so I'm going to have to re-train them on that. We also have 'High five for Harry!' going so its not all bad news.

Worst for me was the year we were supposed to be getting Coniglio, Papley and Martin.

Then Coniglio re-signs just before trade period, and the other 2 deals fall over on the last day.

Yes. Another disappointment.

Every deadline day (and frankly AFL season, at this point) is like:

I thought the opposite. Heard him asked about it on SEN on the drive home - "So Bailey will 100% be staying at GC?". There was a long pause and then a carefully worded response about GC having made their position clear, but not a definitive "That's correct, he's staying".
I thought the same during the trade radio interview as well, there was definitely a pause before his answer.

Carlton Give: Curnow, Pick 10, Future 3rd
Carlton Get: Humphrey, Hayward, Florent, Future 1st

GCS Give: Humphrey
GCS Get: Picks 10 and 11

SYD Give: Pick 11, Future 1st, Hayward, Florent
SYD Get: Curnow, Future 3rd

Wonder if it could look something like this? Gold Coast get more picks to split for their academy selections and Petracca. We keep Swans Future 1st to help with Walker bid next year and 22 to help with Dean pick for this year.
