No reason we can’t buff him up ourselves now that TDK is here.

Get him in the gym with Hunter 🤪

Dude.... so disturbing 😰

Probably a while away, but last i read is that he's added more height and sits at 194cm and 94kg, not bad for an 18 year old. Meant to be athletic and has a high work rate. It'll be his first preseason so i doubt he does anything except play VFL this year. Listed as medium defender on the saints website. A tall liam stocker comes to mind

This is the only clip I could find

You can see a bit more of him in the highlights from this year”s final. Looks like a half back who likes to push forward although I’m not sure how that translates from GAA to AFL.

Great to see Louth win the title for the first time in 44 years.

Haven't heard much on Eamonn Armstrong. Has any one heard of any progress or how he is going? Attributes?

He only joined us late in the season as he wanted to finish his education first.

So for all intents and purposes he is only really starting properly with the pre-season about to commence.

I think he played 3 VFL games. Certainly 2.

AFL/VFL wise he is very raw as has not played any games prior to joining us late in the 2025 season. Prior to this he had only trained a bit in Ireland with remote supervision from Damian Carroll. Athletically is gifted.

I spoke with his parents for about half an hour when they came over to visit him for a fortnight. He, and they, are very happy and excited with is opportunity. He has their full support in what he is doing. The parents were also very complimentary about the Club.

He was living with a friend of Windhager's mother who also hosts Alex Dodson. Is back in Ireland but will be living in Australia full time on his return for preseason.

Liam Ryan is from Geraldton, you can't expect him to be Shakespeare, we just need to let his football do the talking.
Just saying let people who are comfortable in front of a camera speak...don't put someone unable to cope with it in front of a camera. No brainer surely....no need for the pile on your racist shite.

So you'd have preferred the club to do a 1st interview with all the new recruits, except for Liam Ryan?

You reckon these imaginary "future sponsors" would have liked that?

Genius stuff.

I liked hearing from the All Australian Premiership player our club were sharp enough to recruit.

I liked hearing about the connection our indigenous players have, and how that helped encourage him to play for us.

Lots of AFL players aren't particularly comfortable in front of the camera.... so what?

Calm your self....let's not get too excited about jumping on top of what you see as a redneck racist. Just saying there are better candidates to put in front of the camera. Sure you will get the likes and pile on that you are after ....George(DardBallGet) will be in first with his laugh reacts

You reckon there are better candidates than Liam Ryan to put in front of the camera to introduce...Liam Ryan...?

Going off your logic our best player shouldn't have spoken to the media after re-signing with the club on the AFL's biggest salary ever

Why?

Most supporters enjoy hearing from ALL of our players.

I care little how good, or not, they are as a public speaker. They are after all recruited for what they do in the football department.

What I value is the insights they give, and if you actually listened to what he said there was plenty to be garnered.

Agree to disagree

I'll ask you again as you avoided the question.

The club obviously should have foreseen this potential disaster and employed a highly skilled orator.

Maybe...put capable speakers in front of a camera...simples
This not a hill worth dying on. I’d just let it go and work on my listening skills.

Not really his fault, it's a pretty bad interview. All the questions are like "so are you excited to play at the Saints" or whatever. Footy player interviews are generally shit but this one was definitely one of them.
One of those things I find perplexing. Footy journos adore the game and have great conversations about it all day long, and yet in an interview ask the most banal dribble questions imaginable. It’s beyond comprehension.

This laughable take regrettably says more about you than Liam Ryan. Watch it again.

"Plenty" is an overstatement but it wasn't without interest.

Not everyone can be as articulate as Liam Stocker, why does it matter? These are professional football players here, no one minds about the development of concepts or structure of discourse.

Its a Welcome video, the new player gets to say hello, its essentially a formality where they ask very routine and obvious questions and get predictable boring answers and these things are not of much interest to anyone but bored nuffies anyway, so if your complaint is about the video in general, I can get behind that but I suppose if we had Dick Cavett or Andrew Denton or even Dylan Buckley on our media team, the content might be more of a chinstroker.

I have learned to accept these "interviews" for what they are.

At least the interviewer was sober, thats more than TDK and JSOS got!

I thought he came across as humble and gentle. The very opposite of a knob head like Bailey Smith. I was impressed with how genuine he is and pleasantly surprised that he wasn't a stereotype kind of guy.

I really hate how those who live in the city expect rural people to be less
Educated less worldly and poorly spoken. Who the **** do you think you are.

Sorry dude. I’m always surprised when you talk about Isa and it has the same urban shit we have. I expect a place with 25 pubs, a roadhouse and a general store where everyone is a 160 kg miner with leather skin, an acubra and diabetes.

Honestly though it’s disappointing that we don’t have as much rural culture any more. That old school Aussie stereotype is disappearing
