more of a decline immediately than an improvement anyway

Given other clubs, particularly the successful ones get plenty of freebies, more Texs & Maxs please. No clubs should get freebies
It has to be earned/legitimate. The Michalanneys have blue, red and gold blood running through their veins and Max practically lived down at the club since he was a toddler
Top 20?If he is as good as they say he is he'll go top 20, didn't they change the rules so you can't bid on NGA in the top 20?

Worst case I imagine would be merging clubs to make the teams stronger, they won't get rid of itI read the other day the AFL are losing $50 million a year on AFLW. How long can they keep this up?
I know they think thus is an investment, but surely there's a point they cant keep doing this.
In a worst case scenario, what happens?

And all injured last season too. A softie like rozee suddenly becomes a much better player when he plays as the 3rd mid with the other two in there, so wouldn't rule them out just yet. That's assuming carr can even coach. They already have Butters, Rozee and Horne-Francis and just finished 13th

Doesn't the same happen with cricket too, where the players association negotiated increased women's salaries as part of total combined mens & womens TV deals?I read the other day the AFL are losing $50 million a year on AFLW. How long can they keep this up?

Yeah but a loss on AFLW doesn’t impact overall profit and loss. They made a $45 mil operating profit last year in spite of the AFLW running at a loss.I read the other day the AFL are losing $50 million a year on AFLW. How long can they keep this up?

You would hope the AFL has some sort of plan that the AFLW deficit will reduce over time, like with expansion men's teams. I gather this is also what has been holding back expanding the games so they play each other once. What is the long-term vision? Increased participation rates, increase in female attendances...
It’s probably like owning an investment property where the cost is greater than the return. You can still make a loss on one property and make a profit on another. The overall profit of the men’s covers them bothSo where does the $50 million loss land?
Wow imagine you clicked sendWhen it comes to footy and cricket, the thought of 'cosplay' just comes to mind. All the gear and no idea.
These girls who really are not that great get to be professional. It feels fake. Everyone is paying for them to live this fantasy.
Imagine meeting someone and saying with a straight face you are a professional footballer, then they google you and watch you not make the distance from 25m out.
It's actually a funny way of telling the truth.Wow imagine you clicked send
What's crazy is you typed all this out and still hit send

Ah, the irony.I'm over 60 and still found it awful. Not even in a funny way
You do get to see who the troglodytes are in the off season
Just checking. You think our 3 flags mean nothing? Erin Phillips Chelsea Randall and Eb Marinoff are just cos playing?Ah, the irony.
The irony being calling out troglodytes, yet the highly evolved individual you are, completely focused on an irrelevant part of a point someone was trying to make.Just checking. You think our 3 flags mean nothing? Erin Phillips Chelsea Randall and Eb Marinoff are just cos playing?
Explain the irony then like I'm 20
Same thing that happened to Collingwood's netball team, insolvency and a "we tried but it wasn't supported enough by the fans."I read the other day the AFL are losing $50 million a year on AFLW. How long can they keep this up?

It's a catch 22 situation. Womens footy would attract more fans and bring in more money if the talent were better. The money isn't there so neither is the talent. What part do you not agree with?
To me it’s like watching soccerWhat part do you not agree with?
