We can pre list him as a Cat A or Cat B rookie can’t we if he goes undrafted?I think personally its to much of a risk not to take Mellor with our 2nd pick. If we dont pick him then, there be other clubs get him before our rookie selection
I don't really disagree. But I also entirely trust the club on this one. If they decide not to take him in the ND, they're clearly not totally fussed whether we pick him up or not. It won't be some awful oversight where they get totally blindsided by another club stepping in.I think personally its to much of a risk not to take Mellor with our 2nd pick. Bizzare we wouldn’t take him. He seems to be a natural footballer who has performed well at all levels including VFLI don't really disagree. But I also entirely trust the club on this one. I don't think Mellor qualifies as a Cat B rookie. Rongitt I believe does so if he is not taken in the main draft I think we can pre list as a Cat B rookie. We can pre list him as a Cat A or Cat B rookie can’t we if he goes undrafted?
If he wants to play AFL why go to Freo? He would be behind Darcy and Jackson for games in the ruck and Treacy, Voss and Amiss for games down forward.
Fits the need of PortTwomey hasn’t released his late phantom yet has he? In any case I doubt it changes unless he’s had some firm mail that we are taking someone else. Not convinced that Thredgold will be our pick. Just doesn’t seem to really fill an area of need and Wells indicated that we would use the draft to fill a couple of small holes.
Especially a developing key position player.Fits the need of Port
take a South Australian Kid for 12 months and then send him home with a bow (that's one first round pick)

That's 11 players with one to be redrafted. Fox said this morning GC could trade to get 10 picks, the last at 52. If they use them to get 4 or 5 academy kids, that would leave them with 4 or 5 list spots to fill. They've delisted a number of players, as well as retirements and trades - they've opened up a lot of spots

* = Club has committed to redrafting the player in the AFL and Rookie Drafts
How do Gold Coast have enough list spots to match the multiple picks they will need for their academy players?
We can pre list him as a Cat A or Cat B rookie can’t we if he goes undrafted?
We can yes but if we dont take him at 40 and someone bids on him at 50 we have lost him because we dont have a third list spot (see st kilda and Hoffman).
PO. I'm not quoting this post for any reason other than to contact you.We can yes but if we dont take him at 40 and someone bids on him at 50 we have lost him because we dont have a third list spot (see st kilda and Hoffman).
Jeez would be happy with that. Exactly what we need.HS has us picking up Oskar Taylor.

Geelong is another club who has had discussions with the Giants about a move, which could see the Giants move back several spots to the Cats' selection if their group of players is all gone. A shift up the board could see the Cats be a contender for half-back Lindsay, who they and North Melbourne interviewed on Monday.
If...... if.... he gets undrafted. I don't think he will get un picked if he gets to the rookie draftWe can pre list him as a Cat A or Cat B rookie can’t we if he goes undrafted?
That would be a winHS has us picking up Oskar Taylor.

Agreed. More than happy to have him, but would have a few ahead of him at 40. I'd take the risk.Get that. I think I’d likely have a few ahead of him at 40 so be interesting to see whether the club rolls the dice.
