Yeah, because a pick in the twenties in what is touted as one of the worst drafts ever was going to decide our 2026 fortunes.

Pretty clear what we've done here, and it's bet on talent. Nobody else available at our pick would go anywhere near the first round in a better draft.

This bloke is the only one who might have, but he's done the knee. In this sort of draft, you take that risk.

We've got time on our side here. See him in 2027.

Whoever we picked wasn't playing in the afl side next year. We have the depth in the afl team to give him 12 months to recover and then play him in 2027. It's a reasonable gamble as hes probably a top 10 talent if he had have played the whole year i actually prefer him to farrow.

Joel Selwood had a massive injury in his draft year and he went alright.

Some academy kids will as they've been fast tracked and the kids at the bottom 4 clubs will but the rest wont.

Casual. If you don't know Joel Selwood's story of having knees so crook Mark Williams was told Port had to pass on him, then you really ought to do some reading.

Will Ashcroft just won back to back Norms after an ACL. Let's not get our knickers in a knot.

Those videos from the national champs are extremely impressive. Just have to hope the knee holds up and he hasn't lost any of his acceleration or lateral movement.

Over in Adelaide this kid is really rated - built like a brick shithouse which is rare with his running ability - clever punt to maximise the pick I reckon - look forward to him starting at half back in the VFL and think it will be a quick progression from there
