I would still like to see us take a 200cm or thereabouts player if we can manage it.
We've not done very well drafting tall backmen for the last few years, only slightly better trading for them.

Can anyone still alive name the last genuinely tall (not Wilkie or Tauru tall) backman we drafted who played more than 100 games and could be considered good?

It had to be done of course but too late now re suns and bris. Once they build up their equity to those levels they keep trading valuable stock out, for valuable picks or players in . The riches they have now will stay with them for the next 20-30 years. All while free agents will be banging down their door.

We know Ross and Dalrymple like an athlete. Jack Dalton anyone?

Sandringham lad, sub six 2km time trial, tough ball magnet. Had a very strong underage year, captained vic metro and won their mvp before he broke both wrists coming into 2025 in a gym accident.

Small and questionable kicking are the knocks. Wants to be like Lachie Neale.

Just so people are aware, this is not an exact link of what they paid.

Pick 2 is 2481pt
14+18+24 =2481pt
Therefore: GCS could not use pick 24 for pick 5, yet per this link they do.
They had 24+28+29 added in trades (along with 7, but as we know, we gave 7 to GCS for Flanders, GCS gave 7 to Demons as part of Trac deal)

So GCS into draft: 15, 18, 24, 28, 29, 36, 52, 92, 110, points wise stops at 52.

Per the link: 15 became 14, 18 remained the same (for some reason), 24 got used twice (pick 2 & 5) and the same again, 29 was the same, 31 & 32 got used twice (pick 5 and 17), 39, 40, 44, 46 once, they still have currently 48, 49 and 72 according to AFL site.

That's not how pick points work to nab picks and GCS wasn't THAT active to have 13 individual picks, and later picks after pick 2 consumed some would ALL have moved pick values, not just some, points could be distributed to affect ALL picks, not just some in how each paid for picks.

Just to say take something like that list with a grain of salt after pick 2 (as likely just 15+18+later as only needed maybe 52 instead), picks are still shifting so anything used after the first round can still change point values depending on what gets consumed and the AFL will have to sign off on things.

So;
GCS - 3-4 picks used.
Blues - 2 picks used.
Brissie - 2 picks used.
Swans - 2 picks used.

Is the likely split for 50 to become 40, GCS likely to have gone into deficit somewhere to nab both picks 3 and 5 as would have needed more than what they had even with movements, as you only subtract 2-3 from further usage (15+18 used, so 24 becomes 22 for eg or 785pt to 845pt) so not much of a shift point wise in that range.

For an EG, we can use current picks to around 29 for Fincher, would take 2 picks if we use 40 & 55.

Even if Greeves made it to our pick I highly doubt we pick him. It's quiet clear that if you can't run and spread your no use to Ross. I have a feeling the pimple will take someone very left field
Ran a 6:20 2 km. That’s pretty good

He's what I want if we don't get Fincher
