Surely Richmond takes him with pick 2.Kickett as a rookie or ssp a possibility?
although assume the wa clubs might offer a train on spot.
I just dont think what's holding back Gerryn, Mcmahon from engaging in contested marking and neutralising contest compared to say a L.Morris?I think you need to seperate role and option.
Ie Logan morris is a 3rd tall but a no1 target
Generally I’d say the main difference between your Key talls and your 3rd tall is your Keys are required to engage in more contested marking and neutralising contests where as a 3rd tall generally is more mobile and often has more isolated/1v1 matchups away from contest as an alternative target
Sifting through the Rookie Me Draft Guide, some decent players undrafted;
Ollie Greaves
Noah Hibbins~Hargreaves
Oskar Ainsworth
Tom Burton
Noah Chamberlain
Liam Hetherton
Louis Kellaway
Leon Kickett
Jesse Mellor
Riley Onley
Fred Rodriguez
Wes Walley
Xavier Bamert
Rory Wright
Toby Whan
Felix Kneipp
Harry Scott
Aaron Sharkie
Hunter Wright
Tom Blamires
Max King anotherGreaves, Hibbins-Hargreaves and Rodriguez were top ten fancies at the start of the year.

He looked exactly like my brother who also died way too youngSean Lock was a comedic genius and went far too soon.
yeh I know.Cat B rookies can only be players from unfamiliar/non traditional backgrounds for AFL footballers. Players from other sports or of foreign descent like Nguyen is/HEA could’ve been had he got through. I think the official rule is that you can’t have played in an AFL accredited competition for three years before being picked. So can’t just pick another kid out of the normal draft pool.
Anyone you’re surprised was picked?Disappointed in kondo selection.
Last thing we needed was another slightly undersized defender.
I would have let Huss walk.
I wonder how close they were to doing this.
Greeves, nhh and Onley not getting drafted is a surprise
This was a name I liked pre-draft. Developing Ruck would be handy and has a lot of upside. Also comes from a basketball background. Did you know Pendlebury also came from a similar background, and he went OK.Reckon a handy draft to have at least one rookie pick in
Krasnadamskis
Wright
Bamert
NHH
Greeves
Rodriguez
Onley
Oodshorn-Bennier
All feel like draftable prospects, and that’s without considering state league mature agers like your Blamires, Voss, Scott type state leaguers that would probably have success if someone gave them a go.

New team coming in soon will change things.AFL need to increase list sizes.
would have made sense to increase lists sizes now by 2 spots . Then reduce them by 2 spots when tassie come in and they would have a heap of DFA to choose from with AFL Development.New team coming in soon will change things.
Too late now. But when has thinking ahead ever been an AFL House strong suit?would have made sense to increase lists sizes now by 2 spots . Then reduce them by 2 spots when tassie come in and they would have a heap of DFA to choose from.
Depends on the topic. Super goals and stupid formats no one asked for? AbsolutelyToo late now. But when has thinking ahead ever been an AFL House strong suit?

I think people get too caught up in certain specifics like this. A ' 3rd tall' isnt all of a sudden not contesting and neutralising contest
I think its more the position theyre given, some would say Langford out of the goalsquare is a key fwd becaue hes heavily targeted here as a top 2 going i50
But i dont think that means Mcmahon cant play that when Langford is elsewhere (inj., different position ect) same goes for Edwards, HJ, Gerryn ect
They shouldn’t have a system where Port Adelaide can pick zero players in the national draft.AFL need to increase list sizes.
would be handy if we had been given extra rookie list spots like WCE.
even Eagles who were given 4 extra rookie list spots missed drafting some of their academy kids / father sons as they already committed rookie spots to delisted guys and were tight with list spots.
Why not? They've made their necessary list changes. They shouldn’t have a system where Port Adelaide can pick zero players in the national draft.
No.
Its 1 month.
Sharp - Dunkley/Viney / faster better Setterfield/HobbsSo these guys we picked up, who are they most similar to from our list?
Like is Kondo similar to Ridley?
But then that blows the whole theoryThis is a case where size matters. 3rd talls tend to be overmatched against top tier KPD see Miocheck / Membry at the pies being less effective forwards then Mason Cox.
These guys are your AFL equivalent of the NBA movement shooter. Great at what they do but limited size and pressure mean you can only carry one
