I’ve also read there’s gonna be a Scoresby-Lysterfield-Rowville Knights team

Scoresby collecting all the local junior clubs, they have the former league junior manager working for them

Hearing this is one might be struggling a bit. Apparently was going to rely heavily on the Lysterfield U16 team coming through, which played in the prelim in A Grade.

A lot of those kids have already decided not to play for the new combined team and have peeled off to other clubs - most to Rowville, some to Wantirna South and elsewhere.

Obviously an easy sell for Rowville as a destination club.

Kids/parents shouldn't be sucked in by these con men aligned with senior clubs. Play where makes sense to you, both on+off field, regardless of everyone else is doing

The u19 merry go round continues, seeing CN-MLOC posting some kids with a view to getting a side up.

Seems like its a free for all atm with a smaller pool of players available

A decent chunk of kids they’ve announced as signings don’t look to have been playing for a number of years so there is certainly some value add of bringing kids back into the sport.

Gotta start somewhere for these clubs. Even if you dont get a side up, 5-10 each year coming through is enough to rejuvenate the list

Appears a lot from higher divisions possibly kids who weren’t getting regular games, I guess this is what 4th division is genuinely intended for kids who perhaps aren’t up to division 1 level but get to stay involved in the game and play at a lower level, hard to complain about that isn’t it??
You try have a lot each way here don’t change clubs, but don’t fold, but numbers are low, hard to fill teams people going to a standard that suits them is better than them quitting the game is it not?

For sure, I guess its the way the footy landscape is going right now, every club wants a u19s, not enough to go around, some clubs doesnt have juniors and have to find other ways to get them

It's a tough one I think. Some might be con men, from another angle it can also be good to have strong senior-junior partnerships as a good transition into a senior club. Some clubs do it really, really well.

I think the issue with Lysterfield (totally from the outside) is they seem to just get tossed about all over the place every few years so there's no long-term plan in place.

When they started I'm pretty sure they were aligned with Knox

They were then aligned with South Belgrave. Not sure what has happened there but has that just stopped

Now it seems like they're aligned with Scoresby - or at least that's what Scoresby want.

While all along a lot of their players have gone to Rowville and Rowville claim some sort of connection themselves

I think what this inevitably means is the groups will splinter at the end of juniors and head off in all sorts of directions. That's okay, but perhaps the kids might be better served having a smooth transition. I dunno. Seems like the plan changes all the time.

LOL doncaster over BT, kilsyth and more importantly warrandyte is nuts. They are signing swinburne uni, forest hill and ashwood players. They will struggle

Spoke to a bloke at a Premier club yesterday, they were slightly bemused by two of their players (one not long out of VFL) being offered $5k sign-on and $1600/week at Doncaster.

Pretty rich for D4 footy (they knocked it back).

Donny dont do sign ons (fact )1600 ya kidding your self

Havent learned from their mistakes if true.

Must somehow get the struggling junior club on board with a clear plan, they are in not great shape either. Junior clubs are prominent in the area, do DE get Beverley hills players? Warrandyte has a awesome junior program and promotes u19 into the seniors regularly - as they've dropped into D4. Bulleen temp as well. Tough times to restablish numbers once they start dropping off.

We are slap bang in the middle of the asian influx you get some do auskick then gone by the time there 12 ish only one to stick lately is yu yu ashwin now at templestowe the new regime has a 4 yr plan with jnrs u 19s netball and womens football plan not going to be easy but now realise what needs to be done .with an influx of over 55 new players hopefully over time we can achieve these results 🙏

Why wouldn’t they jump on board. The EFNL has basically guaranteed them a flag.
See how long the support lasts.

Here is a couple of guys that should have a beer together.
Just a matter of weeks apart.

Wish doncaster good luck, but having them leapfrog those clubs in a ladder prediction is crazy. Donvale got absolutely spanked their first year post recess. I expect a transition year while they sort themselves out. But anything can happen of course.
