Zane currently has a knee issue, hence why he hasn't been training.

“I asked Zane what the problem is, he said he has ITB."

ITB (iliotibial band) knee injury is a common overuse injury that causes sharp pain on the outside of the knee, often triggered by activities like running. It is caused by irritation of the iliotibial band as it passes over the outer thigh bone, typically from repetitive stress due to factors like a sudden increase in activity or weak hip and knee muscles. Treatment involves rest, ice, anti-inflammatory medication, and physical therapy, which focuses on stretching, strengthening, and improving biomechanics.”
Another example that the AFLPA no contact rules over the 12 week break is ridiculous. Repetitive stress injury that would have easily been picked up by professionals at the club but missed by these amateur PTs players go to in the offseason. Ridiculous. Another lost season for Zane if it doesn't settle quickly.

Bang on.

Thanks for clearing that up, I was confusing it with IBS, thought might have explained why he had the shits a bit at the end of the season.

Either all due respect to Papa Duursma - How can he make a call on Willem who has been at the Weagles all of a New York minute and has not even played a game.
You could say the same for Zane. He ain't exactly closing in on father time.

Just my opinion, but it's unlikely a father would express those views publically if he didn't believe them.

Over to Zane and Clarko now.

might be a back handed compliment - ie. he should be doing better.

It's common knowledge around Foster that Zane had the most potential.
Personally if my kid(s) ever made it to the big league I think the last thing they'd want would be their old man giving exclusive public interviews in of itself, let alone one where he openly critiques and compares them.

There are things you say to your loved ones in private and things you say about them in public.

Not saying I'm not interested in his insights.

That is a real shame. Tom Powell had it in 2023 and it ruined his season

There is biking, swimming, kayaking, boxing and many other highly aerobic activities he can focus on if he has to reduce his running duties for a while.

He should be blessed this is happening now and not around the Ides of March.

Great call. Absolutely. Nail head.

When you remember that Rob Key is the MD of the England team it all makes sense. As a player he famously under-performed his talent because he lacked professionalism and never put in the work to stay in shape or refine his technique. Key was too arrogant/stupid to take training and technical advice to improve his game even from captains like Vaughan and Strauss. He is how and why England has disappeared down the BazBall rabbit hole.

Omni-injured Zane, not omni-injured BGZ. There's nothing big-game about him yet. No, one specky doesn't cut it
He's a 20 year old kid, he's been fit (ish) for 4 months of the 2 years we've had him.

What's more concerning for you (seriously) is that you're on team FW FH, Vegan-Chad and the other genius' side. Have you thought about this, they are public employees (probably) - They don't appreciate talent or those with it, certainly don't like it, because they themselves are not talented and have to work incredibly hard for their money (standing in life). As a result of this they don't appear to appreciate talent.

They long for mediocre and no talent as long as we're vortex-bound (7-10). They long to be mediocre and almost good. They're used to that.

Ah yes, FW FH, Vegan-Chad ... the real enemies of state.
You really are a twat, a twit and tw*t.

if that last season was running too much we are in trouble

Depends how bad it is, I’ve heard ITB can be a few weeks worth of recovery or it can be debilitating. When I had the injury it was painful to even walk and bend the knee. Now years later I’ve learnt to manage it, and whenever I up my running intensity I can feel the injury coming back so I switch to weight/strength training instead.

I would say it has the potential to limit Zane’s explosiveness and leap. However he has a professional medical team around him. I hope they can get him right.

I had it a decade or so ago. Very sore and debilitating but improved rapidly with a good physio and rehab. Hopefully BGZ will be the same.
