To be fair, Tassie is entirely outside his control.

But the rest of his reign has been mediocre at best, and ranging from that to completely incompetent.
Not sure I agree with this completely. The AFL are the ones who were adamant about the need for a boutique stadium to be built at the expense of the taxpayer. Had they taken a slightly softer position on that issue, the team would be able to go ahead without being at the mercy of the Tasmanian state legislature. Therefore I think Dillon deserves some of the blame for the way it's played out to this point.

Laura has been a disaster and reading between the lines, seems to throw worse tantrums than Charlie.
Add her to Greg Swann and his brilliant ideas, I’ll be amazed if Dillon doesn’t make changes.

It seems Gil went for the wrong guy.
Andy boy seems very nice. But not the right fit for the job.
I feel sorry for him tbh.
Must be so stressful to be seen as a failure in such a high profile job.
And he chose poorly with Laura Kane.
She then hired an inappropriate person which has caused more trouble.
Gigantic fail.

That wasn’t Dillon’s decision, but also, it was absolutely correct by the AFL (it was a commission decision and the only way to get the clubs to agree) to make that a condition.

She always seemed in way over her head.
But also, had much higher hopes and expectations of Swann.

We don't know how much red tape and politics have cut down any ideas Swannie brought.

It's fascinating in an awful way.
Like USA.

That may explain the bubbly personality when infront of the camera… “frustration””hands tied” “combination of different things” ???

Geez you’d be a bit upset if you were a * supporter.
First draft pick has a back stress. And they’ve only just discovered it after drafting him.

I thought they would have done fitness tests before they draft them.
AFL should have found it, they refuse to allow clubs to do their own testing but provide centralised reports to all clubs.

That’s correct - and as a side note, there’s still enough time to take a hot air balloon trip around the world!

I hear that’s how Charlie Curnow is arriving at the SCG for Round 0.

Shoot I didn’t know that. I’m really Surprised clubs don’t get access to the player to do that. Seems very strange. You look at nearly all other major codes here and overseas and an independent club physical is the norm.

To set the entry to a brand new white elephant stadium that is not what the general public in Hobart want is entirely at the feet of AFL house.

1. The decision was made by the Commission, before Dillon became CEO, and was the only way that the Clubs would agree to Tasmania’s entry,
and
2. How is it a white elephant?
The stadium naysayers sound just like those who were opposed to the redevelopment of the Adelaide Oval. Or any other piece of infrastructure.

Bring AFL into the city of adelaide, as opposed to the equivalent of Waverly, was great.

So will the tassie stadium

Can't wait to go to our first game at the new Tassie stadium. Will take the car ferry over and enjoy a 10 day scallop extravaganza. Can't believe all of the doomsayers about the stadium - not one mainland footballer would dream of moving to Tassie without the best facilities and the team would be a perennial laughing stock if they were playing full time in Bellerive. Interesting (and probably not coincedantal) that the Foo Fighters are playing a one off gig in Launceston in January.

So on this day, Tasmania has officially become 152 years younger than St Kilda and they’ve won 1 fewer flag.

I can't imagine how happy and relieved the Tassie footy comunity must be feeling.

I think the MacPoint stadium concept(no ones tended for it yet) has more negatives than positives for the entire state, but without it, there'd be no team.

I’ve been living in Brisbane for twenty years, but I am a Hobart boy through and through.

I must admit to being on the edge of my seat all day. I could barely get any work done. And I shed a little tear of joy when Hiscutt provided the vote to get it over the line.

I can’t wait for the first time Carlton plays the Devils at the new stadium. I have every intention of being there.

Well done to all the Tasmanian true believers who assisted to make this stadium possible.
