Loyal team, team leader and Lamar loves him. A hard player to not resign cheaply.

They love Kolar too so someone else can overpay for Likely if needed. Though he also seems to be a loyal player.

Still weird, they were trying to trade him in the offseason and this year has been one of if not his worst. I havent seen the details of the contract but looking at it simplistically hes only earning 1m less annually than what he was previously and his play has dropped significantly, this deal still has him as the 5th highest paid TE in the league. Maybe they arent as confident in Likely as they thought they were in the offseason? I know spotrac had Likely earning an estimated ~12m contract next year in the offseason but after the year he's had I doubt he gets close to that.

Yeah dunno. I think a lot of Likely love is driven by FF as much as reality, so there’s always a good chance they stick together in Baltimore. Not the first time talent is ‘squandered’ staying in a good, competitive team that respects loyal players…
