Yep very strange.

It's almost as if they told him to bash it so they could declare and then changed their mind once smith put everyone on the fence.

He’s done it once in Australia and it has a huge asterisk against it.

Stars aligned for him today and he got a cheap ton.
It's nice to know your bad takes aren't just limited to football

9/260 an hour ago though. Take those last 60 runs out and they have been well off it with everything in their favour.

But they did get 60 runs and they have a soft ball for 7 more overs because we were so slow…so how many you recon you are going to give them? Another 30 at least because our shocking captain won’t have a cover in for a number 11!

Depends on our batting though we need to be ahead after our first you don’t want to be chasing north of 250 in the last dig

I agree but I cant see us batting more than 80 overs so I dont think we will be well ahead (parity at best).

This will be one of the easiest tons he’s made in his career. Zero threat from the bowlers with a ball that did nothing on a flat pitch.
1. He nicked off early and it didn't carry
2. Had several play and misses throughout the innings
3. The ball did plenty. Bowlers don't take 6/73 on flat decks.

Your inability to ever give the opposition any credit in any sport you follow is quite baffling.

So it’s taken a 60 run last wicket partnership (where one was just slogging) for them to be slightly ahead in the second test?

They’ve had everything go their way and are still only slightly ahead this match.

I'd say they're more than slightly ahead, especially given the military nature of our attack and the lack of Lyon.

They are more than slightly ahead. Have you seen us bat lately?

Did you watch many of the other wickets? Crawley scored runs today when he hasn’t been able to buy one.

Still don't reckon 325 is that good of a score from England

They were 4-200. Yes they collapsed and we leaked runs at the end, but from that position earlier in the day, they absolutely should have been making 125 from the remaining 6 wickets.

Very little movement from the ball after the first 20 overs and basically nothing in the pitch. Had we bowled them out for 260 we would have been miles in front. 350 is probably par

Have you seen how we bat when head doesnt come off? We are in real trouble.

I agree I’d actually have England ahead. They have 3 bowlers that worry us….we have one. This is our worst attack in ages. Starc, a squad specialist and 2 Shield cricketers.

I think it's time Travis Head was given the keys to the captaincy. Smith made some pretty ordinary decisions in that final session. Smith doesn't NEED to be captain, he can focus on his batting. AUS need new ideas - fresh set of eyes. Alex Carey can be vice-captain.
Head was an instigator of the go slow tactics. He ran over to Smith with about 40 minutes left in the session, pointing at his wrist and then did the slow down motion.
