I agree I’d actually have England ahead. They have 3 bowlers that worry us….we have one. This is our worst attack in ages. Starc, a squad specialist and 2 Shield cricketers.

We are lucky wood is injured but archer and Atkinson will be a real handful with the pink ball. Stokes still holds the key though as him and root always do.

Did you watch many of the other wickets? Crawley scored runs today when he hasn’t been able to buy one.

I watched just about every ball. Crawley batted very well.

Duckett got out to an absolute seed that jagged a mile. Doesn't bode well for your flat deck theory.

And Smith also got clean ripped by one that decked in a fair way.

The pitch is fine. You're just unable to ever give the opposition credit for anything.

Crawley was middling them with ease at that point. Dont think it was as hard as some of the other batsmen made it look. The top order were cruising outside of Starc’s first 2 overs.

Im not disputing that. Just that this England side is very average if they can’t take advantage of the leg up they are currently getting with batting conditions and our bowling lineup.

There isnt really any decent options. Carey is the only one I think has any game IQ but captaining is a big workload as a keeper and I doubt he wants to give the gloves up.
Other than that there's a leadership chasm and no great ways to solve it.

Most definitely. We are treading water until Cummins and Hazlewood return. If they're both back for Adelaide, I'd have probably taken 1-1 going into that test. One thing's for sure, Doggett absolutely has to be ditched after this test. Our fast bowling stocks heading into the next generation are very worrying.

So that’s 2 of 9 and one in the first over when you’d expect every new ball to do something.

Number 11 also has 32 runs with limited chances given. The pitch is flat and will only get worse in the sun. If we get the right window in the 4th innings (not batting late in the day for too long) then 350 can be chased

74 overs for a day's cricket, with extra time given is disgraceful. They need to start penalising runs, rather than just fining players match fees. Umpires need to be more on top of it too.

Youre making the same point I am. They could not have asked for a better start to the series in terms of player availability and when they’ve batted, yet still found themselves well back in the series until 30 minutes remaining today.
