Talk talk talk. The Europeans are great at talking."The Europeans have finally woken up to the reality that president Trump, the US administration, is not going to come to their rescue," he said.![]()
Here's what experts say about the Russia–Ukraine peace process
After a flurry of meetings, Russia's war in Ukraine continues. So where is the peace process at?www.abc.net.au
"Nobody believes that Russia will live up to any agreement. The Europeans know that this will just delay for a year or two before Russia transitions from grey-zone operations to more deliberate operations against European countries, especially if Ukraine fails.
"They know that there will be millions more Ukrainian refugees going into Central and Western Europe if this happens. So I think that they're playing catch-up now."
Then it's time for action -
"Belgium: Well sorry chaps, unless everything is 100% not 99% certain about the frozen funds, then those Ukranians will keep having to die"
"Germany : No, still no Taurus for you"
"All Europe: No we aren't putting planes in the air or troops on the ground until after some mythical truce. Yes we know by saying that it encourages Putin to have no truce. Next you'll say you don't believe in fairies".
I'll believe Europe does something meaningful, rather than token half-measures when it actually happens. They all know if Putin wins they'll have to spend much more on defense then what'd cost to support Ukraine, but all cowards without Washington's skirts to hide behind.

Australia is weighing whether to send retiring Tiger helicopters to Ukraine, as Kyiv requests additional military support. This would be separate from a new funding package expected soon. The Tiger helicopters are in the process of being retired as Australia transitions to the US-made Apache fleet.
