Really all I’ve seen is some ordinary batting to be honest
True three batsmen have got themselves out.
All attacking shots, Weatherald's strangle down leg was absolutely infuriating.
Marnus played down the wrong line to a straight one.

I’m surprised Tongue has not had more opportunities this series.

He’s certainly better than Carse and imo more consistent than the overrated Jofra Archer
I sort of understand. England started with a "fight fire with fire" approach. Wanted pace and boiunce and able to bang it in short. And it worked for an innings in Perth. A lot of stuff directed under the armpits and ten wickets for bugger all.

So, not picking Tongue at the start of the series made sense. After that, the plans haven't really come together, Wood and now Archer who the plan relied on are gone. Tongue probably, with hindsight, should have been in since Brisbane with the day-night games usually more helpful to fuller bowling.

that's not ideal... not sure what Smith was doing with that one... did it move a long way?
Swung in, but just completely misjudged it.

Tongue can bowl a bit, but five years ago Steven Smith would've driven that straight through absent mid off for 4. His eyes are simply not as good as they once were.

Impossible to score though. First attacking shot batsmen have played they’ve got out to. Definitely plenty in the pitch.

Well, you know what they say about scores and pitches. You have to wait for both teams bat to know how much England will trail by.
Centenary Test in 1977 - Australia 138, England in reply, all out for 95.
