Boland and Starc would be salivating at bowling on this pitch, and England will bat like morons again.
Richo and Neser both also have five wicket hauls in their last Test outings against the Poms. Only takes a good partnership or two and we're still a very good chance of taking a lead into our second innings.

Impossible to score though. First attacking shot batsmen have played they’ve got out to. Definitely plenty in the pitch.

Have to disagree.

Head's cut shot was an attacking shot. Unlucky to drag it on but his dismisal had nothing to do with the pitch. You would think he would've learnt his lesson after almost doing the same thing in the first over.

Marnus got out playing a drive. Certainly wasn't a defensive shot.

Weatherald wasn't playing a defensive shot either. Played well outside his line trying to score. Not exactly Bazball but entirely unnecessary.

And now Smith.

You'd think they'd move on from him after this series, bugger all Test cricket in 2026.. away to South Africa and NZ next summer.
Why would we move on from him if he finishes this series well? Particularly with other question marks over our batting.

I'd like to be able to move on from him, but Green, Weatherald and Labuschagne look like bigger concerns at the moment.

I'm surprised Vaughan hasn't gone back home with his dad passing.

Edit. He did go home. Must have flown back to Australia.
I do not know how some people find their strength. I haven't lost a parent but I know when it happens I'll be one step away from crawling into a ball and not saying a word for weeks, let alone stepping right back into broadcasting!
