Sounds like we will spend the season being gaslit. Awesome
Can you imagine his onfield carry-on if JC gets Port up for a Showdown?!
Im Predicting the ENTIRE bag of tricks, Airoplane/Teeth/Tears/
☝️/👌/Cup of Tea over Shoulder. Then forcing his way onto the podium to accept the Balfours Noble Showdown Medal!🫠

Why does Head Office Victoria have such disdain for its South Australian audience.
I just read that ALL SA matches will have the crack local team of Hinkley, Ricciuto and Burgoyne. Damn,
You can really see where that recent 'price-hike' cash has gone hey.

Wait so no Dwayne, Underwood or Darcy on all Port home games? That sounds good to me

None of Hinkley, Rooshito and Shaun Burgoyne are play-by-play commentators, so chances are Dwayne Russell will be there a lot.

Does DAB Broadcast sync well with Kayo ?

Anyone tried this
Not really, I tried it for the cricket and there's still some latency.
It's slightly better when streaming through the net when using different broadcaster though.

I think it's more a Kayo issue, in all honestly, it's an outdated service.

I must say that these days there are only about two or three commentators that I think are good to listen to, most are either meh or downright annoying, but that is really scraping the bottom of the barrel.
For mine, if you can't make it to the game, there's only 1 option - mute the TV and listen to 5AA.

Trouble is, if I can’t get to the game I rarely get to watch it live, usually have to record and watch later 🙁

I genuinely don't really know how well we perform away from home as I hate watching on TV.

Fortunately for me, I'm retiring in 8 weeks, so I'll hopefully get to 1 or 2 away games later in the year, including the Collingwood game at the G.

I've posted a number of times before that there should be an option to mute the commentary but still have the ground noise. With CH7 having multiple digital channels there is no reason why they couldn't do this. The commentary adds nothing and in most cases is just plain annoying but watching a game with the sound off lacks atmosphere. I can recognise most AFL players better than the commentators paid to do so and I have no interest where the players went to school or what Dermie believes they are thinking.

Having Hinkley as a commentator is just another reason to watch games on mute.

I reckon ch7 would be too worried about people keeping their TV on mute, because if people don't need to listen to the game they would probably mute it so they don't have to listen to ads as well.

And that would have repercussions for advertisers and incoming advertising revenue.

I mute the ads if I'm watching live TV otherwise I skip them if I'm watching something I've recorded.

That's why having sound with the commentary muted only actually makes sense for the broadcaster. People wouldn't need to mute their TVs and hence would still hear the ads.
