Wilson is an interesting one, you can never have enough power repeat endurance freaks and he’d compliment what we have perfectly, but the cost would be interesting. Don’t think he has shown enough to justify a top 15 pick, but he has more than enough potential to give up something around pick 15.

I know we were in his ear big time during tv trade period last year, and I’m damn sure he doesn’t appreciate a lesser proven teammate in Phillipou being on a million bucks a year.

Went to school with my son. Gun. Great kick of the ball and tough as they come. Would love him at North.

Lots to like about him, tough, courageous,
Accountable and knows how to play both lockdown and offensive roles in the back half. Another booming left footer too. Have heard that he is a tier 1 character too.

Would compliment Hardeman perfectly moving forward.

"These are the clubs out there going to be swinging their money. North Melbourne has made it clear to agents out there that they have money to spend and they are going to use it this year. They have been in the mix for players in the past. If they get going on the field, we'll see some real attraction there as a destination. With a promising season ahead, they should be right in the mix for a few key players. I see them having huge money to spend and I can see them doing that this year"

Anyone with a dog, best friends with certain NMFC.....lives 15 mins from Moorabbin, whoops I mean Arden Street...we are in your scope

Butts, Wilson and a big push for Walter. I can’t see Ash glancing our way, but we need to look at someone of that type.

If Luke Ryan is out of favour, could he be someone that may be looked at? (I genuinely don’t know his status, I just read something before scrolling).

Assuming again that North has a decent season and finishes around the middle of the ladder... and with the kind of radical optimism only possible in the 96 hours immediately following a "best game in five years" type of performance, I present...

The Snoz Masterplan 2026™.

Bradys best move here is not to pay overs for Jed Walter just because we bid on him at pick 3.

He's only available because Gold Coast won’t guarantee him a spot alongside King, JUH, Long, Farrar, Read and the rest. You don’t pay the “former elite junior” tax when the whole reason he’s on the market is that he’s squeezed out.

So, lets open our purse and sign the Buttman from the Crows on enough money that Adelaide gets end-of-first-round compo.

Then, assuming our correspondence with Adelaide remains lawful and above board, we flip North’s own first - call it pick 7 - for the Crows’ first, probably around ~15, plus the Butts end of round compo pick.

From Adelaide’s point of view, they’re basically getting pick 7 for their third-choice key defender and a late first rounder. They’d be sprinting that paperwork into AFL House. Its so filthy it makes our McKay for pick 3 caper sound reasonable.

And who did we use that pick 3 to bid on again?

For us, one mid-first becomes two later firsts. The Buttman (where is buttox anyway?) pushes Pink or Logue into depth status, which is where they should be. Suddenly you’ve got the ammo for Walter without completely draining the cupboard. More importantly, you’ve still got enough left to make a serious play at Lachie Ash.

Because if GWS just sit on Ash through 2027 and he walks as an RFA, they’re probably looking at end-of-first-round compo anyway. So The Snoz's job is not to lose its mind and pay a top ten pick. The job is just to beat that end-of-round-one compo convincingly.

So we throw Ash serious money to replace Daniel. If the Herald Sun's Rich List is anything to go by, he's not even in the Giant's 9 highest paid players. He's on less than $650k. Great for us.

Then we offer GWS pick 15 from Adelaide, plus North’s 2026 second. Call it pick 25.

If Adelaide’s first lands around 15, that alone is already in the zone of being more useful than waiting around for an AFL compo pick. We're offering pick 25 on top of that for a first-class rebound defender. Snoz can even chuck in a tiny sweetener if he has to. Pick swap. Something modest.

And since Brady is already raiding the warchest, let's use our 2027 second on Bodhi Uwland, who’s also out of contract. A clean upgrade on McDonald, and in all likelihood another victim of Gold Coast having too many mouths to feed. We got hurt way too often by slippery little goalsneaks, Archer's injured half the time, so yes we still need a proper lockdown option.

So yes its dependent on a few uncertainties breaking our way, and yes I'm sure some killjoys will the accuse the Adelaide section as draftrigging.

But, in sum, The Snoz 2026 Masterplan™ looks something like this:

Out: pick ~7, pick ~25, 2027 second

In: Walter, Ash, Butts, Uwland, Flagroos

There is one hole in this plan bud. Our first rounder in 2026 will be Pick 18 👀

Rats. Guess the silver lining is that in this particular future you speak of, Toby Pink must have transformed into prime Alex Rance, so we won’t need the Buttman after all.

Id throw some money at Zac Bailey and make him choose between us and Essendon

“I grew up as a North supporter. My great uncle, Mick Nolan, played for North so my family are massive supporters of North Melbourne,” the 18-year-old said further.

“Growing up I didn’t get much of a choice, but (it was) North at the end of the day.

“I’m not as tall as Mick, or wide, but he was a pretty good player in his day.”

I know it's hard but you just have to let it go....
