The problem is not with Wiz, Weddle and Nuke being tagged - that's always going to happen and the Cats have a team full of taggers

The problem is that others aren't stepping up to fill the void - If Wiz is tagged out of the game by Mullins then Croc and Moore need to get off the scissor lift and totally dominate the forward line, play blinders and force them to change the tag off Wiz. Likewise in the middle if Atkins goes to Newc then Ward/McKenzie have to play the game that newc would play

I feel our defence is better than their forward line and our forwards can beat their backs - it comes down to how much we let them control the middle (Oh and what I would give for an enforcer just to remind those tags there's more to footy than holding a guys shirt for our quarters)
This is it. Partic with the Wiz. I would like to see Ginni deeper this week to give Geelong something else to think about. And please can we kick straight, not be on the end of poor umpiring mistakes or non-decisions at key moments. Not too much to ask.

Unfortunately, playing Geelong, the last bit about the umpires is just a pipe dream.

Bartel got all salty about that and had an indignant whingey defence via the media.

But look at the video he's like a sprinter diving forward to cross the finish line. Ridiculous.

Tomahawk - weighing approxaimtely 273kg, was apprently sent flying off his feet be a mere brush of Frosty's hand.

He’ll still probably get paid free kicks 😂

same exact thought… 😂

maybe they’ll just wave or wink in his general direction every time they don’t pay a Cats throw/one handed handball or holding the ball…

Bet he pumps them up in the rooms pre-game also. They will still lose though if we are on.

It’s a very big game for our club methinks. We will see where this side is at.

Y’know when you hear the non-officiating umpire saying “pay it, pay it” through the umpires microphones? It’ll be that, except it’ll be Danger sitting in his own comms box with a headset on.

We have two ups that we did in the prelim. Nick Foot always murders us
Like he murders the racetrack form. I can’t believe he’s allowed to be on racing shows it’s extraordinary.

That is insanely rich given the near identical incident where he also takes an Oscar worthy pantomime dive in a marking contest against us, and earns a free kick.

I hope the next time he comments on Hawkins, someone reminds him of this.

Bartel is a faux nice guy. He says a lot that is in tune with being insightful and self aware. But when push comes to shove (or in his case, pretend shove).... his lack of self awareness, and real-world actions raise level crossing standard red lights and alarm bells.

That whole team has the same character flaw: on field entitlement that leads to very questionable behavior when it gets what it deserves.

From Chapman and Scarlett's faux tough guy line stepping, to Selwood and the crazy sooking when a game of ducking yields no return... from Hawkins to Bartel and their diabolical flopping, it's very, very consistent across that team.

Don't even get me started on The Weapon's tenure coinciding with their flag era and that space cadet, sandwich in the box eating Coach being in charge.

Our team from that era owned their line stepping - the Unsociable Hawks never pretended to be any different. Geelong were just not made of that same stuff.

I don't think it's a coincidence that our side from that era 3-Peated, while they struggled to win flags consecutively, to the point that they have none despite years of winning Home and Away seasons.

Maginess in and can tag Holmes if need be

Would like to see a Dalton or Greaves debut but not sure the club rolls the dice on such a big occasion against a seasoned opponent
I think this is the most likely outcome but I kind of hater that.
I'd rather use Butler more as a defensive mid and bring in Greaves to see what he looks like in the biggest of moments. His versatility to be able to play as another tall forward and mid would be more useful/damaging imo, especially if his efficiency transfers to the 1's well
