With the training (or lack of) stuff I think people are concerned for for no reason.
These days interval training is the way to go, train hard and to specific programs is far better to fast track progress.
the days of slogging it out doing 4 hour sessions is long gone, the benefits of Interval training far out way these dated methods.

I noticed Rioli is No 1 midfielderBest ruckmen in the league nank and soldo tapping it down to the best midfield rioli shedwardo dusty cotch prestia jiggins chaos balling it into the best forward line in the league lynch jiewoldt and George comstanza caddy and bolton

Obviously I must be missing Clarkson's point because how does 6-6-6 affect the centre clearances? You still have 4 vs 4 in the centre square. He must be talking about back of the square players not being there.Clarkson & Eddie about the 6 - 6 - 6 rule changes

Maybe we're taking a while getting used to thatThe way people carry on you would think we aren't a club run by actual professionals who know what they are doing.
Did he do it with a smile?Balta gave us a ‘thanks for coming to watch’ as he walked the boundary signing autographs - massive unit up close!

Thanks mate.Reckon he could surprise this year.Moves well and a lovely kick of the ball. Still needs to fill out more to get near the seniors in my opinion. A lot to work with though.
Balta doesnt do smilesDid he do it with a smile?![]()
No seniors for him.Balta doesnt do smiles
Went along today and have some observations:
Derek Smith flying, beautiful kick looked great.
Lynch looked proppy I thought but did most things. The man is huge!!
Oleg moves very well and I think will play round 1
Luke English & Fraser Turner kicked really well, like what I saw with those 2
Dusty cruised
Rance & Jack really vocal showing great leadership
Sydney Stack is really skilful. Found one there if he sticks with it
Dan Butler in for a big season.
CCJ will be a monster. Good skills for a big bloke.
Balta has the body of a 30 year old.
Prestia looking the fittest I've seen him, I'm thinking he's in for a great year.
Bought a jumper and asked for number 19 but they ran out of one's so had to go with number 4.
when they start doing pentagram formations...with burning flames...I'd really worryNo 6/6/6 work being done, but lots of 12 v 9 end to end and 8 v 4 in close ‘keepings off’ drills. Ball movement very slick.
When you watch the video of the Collingwood banner breaking, you see Buckley greet each player as they run out.
He copied that from Captain Cotch.
Collingwood copied everything except holding a premiership trophy aloft.
Won’t be Balta. Will be either CCJ or Soldo. Balta hasn’t been involved in any ruck work exercises this pre-season.The more i think about this the more im convinced that we must get either Balta or Coleman jones fast tracked into the team
2 things that makes me think this is
1. We desperately need a 2nd Rukman with the new rules where a player like Grigg can no longer participate in the ruck without us giving up a huge advantage
2. The new kickout rule is going to have the ball virtually in the center of the ground with every exit and we must have a marking option in the middle,Nank can not be expected to be everywhere and apart from Lynch & Riewoldt we really dont have any other players that can work upto the middle to take that contested mark to pump the ball foward.
Soldo is just not mobile enough to be that player so it must be between CCJ / Balta / Chol with Chol being the least likely due to his ability to read the play
So just on this 6-6-6 garbage, according to champion data we set up 6-6-6 only 3% of the time, we set up 8-6-4 11% of the time..........
Hmmmm what happened to the other 86% of the time that didn't suit their agenda, maybe it's because we set up 7-6-5 which is as close to 6-6-6 as you can get.
Somehow don't think we will have any problems at all not that i thought we would anyway. Amazing how leaving out a large chunk of the % sucked many in.
Sure, he was participating in the drills which was good to see but running about 60% - 70% which will be by design I'm sure. He just wasn't running freely which I thought he would be by now if he was going to play in 7 weeks. This was not doom and gloom but personally looked to me like round one is a long shot. But who knows what can happen in the next 7 weeks. Can you elaborate on Lynch?
Yeah from what I saw from the video looked like 70% speed which is somewhat promising. One thing I noticed was he leapt for a mark so the knee is obviously at the point where it can take weight loading. I’m sure his fitness would be a good level given he’s a pro athlete. Think it’s now just about getting his lateral movement going and getting him into the drills. He knows how to play, so not too worried about the drills per se, just want him to have confidence in his kneeSure, he was participating in the drills which was good to see but running about 60% - 70% which will be by design I'm sure.
