Wait, I'm confused. So the cops knew internal affairs were setting them up?

Matt Thomas ****ing sucks, fight me irl

Matt Thomas lol

Can't really abide a post telling people not to discuss Ports on the Ports discussion forum though. We all show our love for the club differently, and i'll continue to show my love for the club by demanding it be the best Port Adelaide Football Club that it can be.

Edit: And that doesn't just mean i'm being negative either, i've spent the last week arguing that co-captains ain't so bad

Andrew Moore with less intestines.

This is ass-backwards, the man was literally 100% intestines

He just couldn't read the play and as such couldn't position himself advantageously to make the best of his toughness

Look and outside of that, there's also the fact that you only really know your opinions when you have to defend them.

I know more about football from arguing with people on this forum than I otherwise would because we have lots of intelligent people on this board who make strong, well reasoned arguments and if I disagree with them i'd better know what i'm talking about.

I understand the game, what Port Adelaide are doing and why we're doing it a lot better because i've got into some pretty in depth and sometimes heated discussions on here about it. We all learn from each other, see different perspectives, and have our football beliefs forged and tested in the fire of differing opinions.

Talking footy at the sort of shallow level you'd get at the watercooler at your workplace doesn't do a lot for me.

I’m more annoyed about the times where any real “discussion” is absolutely hosed by all the negative comments. No one wants to try to post something interesting or outside the box in such an environment, and it’s miserable.

You are correct about the negative bias in some threads but no one forces any of us to read everything on the site. The real perspective to this is that in the eyes of many of us the Club is at a crossroad atm. We have been 14 years without a Premiership and unless the right decisions are made we will be doomed to the list of 'also rans'. I do not want to see the Port Adelaide Football Club become a St Kilda or a Western Bulldogs both of whom had fifty year Premiership droughts and that colours many of my posts. Sorry if that sounds negative but I cannot see it any other way.

Again, while we are putting things into perspective I think many supporters are really concerned at the place this Club is at because they care, not simply because they want to see negatives at every turn. Again I agree that many of us, myself included, go overboard at times but the reality is we are in the longest Premiership drought in our Club's 149 year history and that is not a positive backdrop. I am sure that if the situation can be reversed and we see some consistent finals action there will be a far more positive outlook among the supporter base and that will be reflected on this site. It is easier to be critical of failure than it is to criticise success.

You might think about starting a few 'positive' threads to balance the argument and make you feel less miserable.

For example I would welcome someone attempting to put a positive spin on last season's history making fade out or the fact that we have only really challenged for the Premiership once in the past decade. I am open to serious debate and I welcome someone putting the other side of what to me, and I am sure many other supporters, are areas of great concern.

I am not knocking your desire for positivity as the Club needs it atm and I eagerly await your positive and 'outside of the box' threads.

I don’t think the OP is saying that there can’t be robust discussions about footy, wanting Port to be the best and pointing out deficiencies. I think it’s more that it’s pointless and a drag reading “this club is ****ed” posted 50 times by the same person in one thread. We got it the first time guy.

The same can be said for the monotonous kool-aided cheerleading though.

Thanks for the summary. I am OK with that.

Lol I'm not questioning his toughness, not even slightly. He was hard as nails. He literally had less intestines than Andrew Moore.
