All depends on who granted the grant and why and why it went to her first.

I must admit when I wrote grants and got them for community groups I rarely invited the LNP member ,basically because it really had nothing to do with him other than he was the member.
I never got novelty cheques with my name on them either

If you read the tweet thread...The member for Mayo (Sharkie) said she was told about it (a day before??), by then Downer had already organised the fake cheque handing over ceremony.

That thread also highlights that Downer did a similar thing with a roundabout...turned up, made a hoo-har...but it was all the previous state govt doing.

She's basically parading around like she is the local member and done all these things for the electorate when in fact she has done nothing but use photo-ops to make it look it she has done something...Apple hasn't fallen far from the tree on that one.

Sturt is one of the few seats where Labor still haven't preselected their candidate.

Labor party have appointed plenty of ex-liberals in the past and vice-versa, once the gloves are off they all scratch each other's backs.

When Abbott won in 2012 he essentially recalled Labor apointees to ambassadorships and cancelled any pending ones, are we expecting a Shorten government to return to the days of a more bipartisan approach to this sort of thing?

Cushy postings for the other team are over. Liberals saw to that when they dicked around Steve Bracks and Kevin Rudd. Labor voters on social media would be all over it ("Why the **** are they giving these people jobs?") and Bill Shorten doesn't need that crap when he's trying look Corbyn-lite.

Why do you think Scott Morrison will have the election on the last possible date (besides the fact he's going to lose)? So Liberals take up vacancies long as possible.
