Is this one of those "He's not a lockdown defender, so we discount any good he does on offense, and dismiss him as an overall shit player" kind of deals?

Do you watch today's NBA. This isn't a thing anymore.

To think, he's probably still 4-5 years away from even entering his prime, too.

That being said, not sure how much more improvement he has left in him (given how good he is now, it's possible that he's closer to his ceiling than his floor), and not sure how he'd go in a system/team that doesn't involve him being the #1, #2 and #3 scoring and playmaking option (which he had at Oklahoma, too), but he's certainly better than Curry was at the same age.

If you're comparing rookie seasons, you must be high.

As I said, I'm comparing them at the same age, when they were both 19-20. Curry was still another year-18 months from making his NBA debut at that point.

Plenty of decent offensive players still get undervalued and overlooked by coaches, GMs, and fans, because of comparatively poor defensive abilities.

When Ayton and Holmes went down and he started, he actually showed a little bit. He gives you these plays once a game and you think he could be anything and then his brain gets in the way and commits howlers.

Someone needs to tell Tyler Johnson the white t-shirt under the purple uni is not the way.
