Since when is Henry at 191cm a tall?
Only at Geelong could he be, l suppose when compared to all the shorts he is.
He what's regarded as a tweener same goes for Constable.
We've got the poorest set of talls in the AFL that's a for sure.

Got too disagree here.
While we might not be in the top few teams with KPP players we far from the worst in the league.

So Scott Selwood didn’t make it through another pre-season without injury. I think the club needs to be realistic about what this guy offers, just last week there were stories from the club he could have an impact in midfield this year.

I don’t see a role for him at all in senior side, unless we are beset with injuries.

I'm not convinced there's been a role for him in the senior side since the day we recruited him.

Would much rather pump more midfield games into Parfitt, or give Constable a run.

Well, they're the future, and SS is closer to our history

That's true, but I'm talking about the present - I'm certain we will get better output from Parfitt in the midfield than S Selwood this season even if both play 20 games.

Yep, I was agreeing with you.

The best days of SS are behind him, and the natural improvement of the young guys will surpass the output of SS as he declines

Gees i dont think he had any best days with us.

His best day with us thus far was probably his 17-disposal, 17-tackle game against the Dogs in Round 9 2017. From there, he went on to have eight more games that season where he laid at least 10 tackles.

And ended up averaging over 19 disposals and over 10 tackles per game for the rest of the year (14 games, in total).

This is clearly the sort of output he was recruited to provide. His body has let him down way too often over recent seasons, I agree.

But, as the stats here show, his best efforts as a defensive midfielder have certainly not been insignificant.

The new 6-6-6 rule will make little difference. The rule that will make the most difference is the play on rule after a behind.

This is a fairly insightful post.

To some degree, Geelong's public discussion about improving our pressure in the forward 50 and then subsequently recruiting pressure players could potentially be completely irrelevant to how things will trend. As we saw all weekend, the ball can end up near the wing after one to two possessions. What exactly can a forward 50 pressure player do about this? Not much in my opinion (however, I would welcome others thoughts).

With the play on after a behind rule, we're unlikely to see repeat entries from forward defensive pressure turnovers like we have in the recent past.

Rather, I think that the turnover part of the ground will shift to the D50 and the back of the centre square. The most important players will be the defensive team who will have to pick off the entries and then run it out of their fifty. Linking up with the wing and half-forwards will be the key attacking move. Players like Rowan, Cockatoo and Danger, hovering around the wings will be vital to break through and create dangerous one on ones if we have a stay at home forward.

Rowan and Cockatoo? Could be brilliant, or a monumental miss......

Him and Cockatoo gone at the end of the year.

There was a stat after rd 1 of the JLT series which showed short kicks, long kicks, who took them and their effectiveness.

Now how Cam Guthrie is still given control to take kick-outs is an indictment on the coaching group.

It's one area we need to get right.

Our best 22 is as good as anyones its just the depth in players 25-40 on the list its not what it was in the flag years. To me hes one of the few afl quality depth players we have just outside the 22 and thats not a bad thing if you need to call on it.

We need Abbott to do well, given how poor Fort was last week.

I dont think we will play 2 rucks in the season proper with Sav and Blitz available. But we need Abbott to keep putting pressure on Stanley's spot i think that brings out the best in him.

Gees i dont think he had any best days with us.

Hes done some really good lockdown jobs for us at times and i remember one game against the dogs where he had about 15 tackles hes been good. But the way he plays is starting to catch up with his body-hes on the decline.

Cant wait to view this game from the stands.
Footy at KP with Ablett stationed in the forward fifty.........one can only hope
