Charlie and McKay are slow? Charlie is as quick and mobile as anyone

Having

Charlie Casboult Cuningham
Fasolo McKay Gibbons

Looks as mobile as what we had at the weekend

*Sigh*

Charlie is not as quick and mobile as anyone. He is agile for a man his size. As is McKay. McGovern also. But all three together? A risk in lack of real pace.

Cunningham has a bit of toe, but nothing extraordinary. Fasolo and Gibbons are no better than bog average for their size. None of them can carry the extra speed load.

Put Casboult in there and you may as well build a revolving door at the 50m line.

He's not dropping a mid out of the team.

He's suggesting he could be an additional rotation through the middle and/or be used as a utility either forward or back.

Gibbons and Polson are not selected for small forward roles.

I feel that we need one of them. I'd be leaning towards Gibbons. He seems a bit more composed with ball in hand at the moment. Also feel he's ahead of Polson when it comes to applying defensive pressure.

The Silvagni for midfield push is based on a few decent outings at VFL level. Gibbons is the best VFL mid of at least the last two years. week in week out.

How is Silvagni ahead of Gibbons for the role?

Fas, Garlett, Plowman, Setterfied, Cunners and Gibbons only playing due to lack of depth/injuries
Not sure if you’ve watched any of the JLT but cunners has smashed it and Setterfield is building.

Curnow and Wright were the only two players in round one last year that I was confident could kick more than one goal. They both ended up kicking 5 but going into round one this year I think Curnow, Cuningham, Fasolo, Gov and Harry all have the potential to kick multiples. Even Cripps if he spends enough time forward. We have to gain confidence knowing we’re developing more avenues to goal..... and a midfield that can get it to them.

If the pill is delivered to him better than previous years he will do well imo

Yup our midfielders will appreciate the decongested middle, Phillips has to hold his own and direct the ball to advantage with Ed, Cripps and Murphy and later on Kennedy doing the labour our youngsters Fisher, SPS, Dow and Walsh will have more freedom to deliver the ball with more accuracy.

Carlton have nothing to lose in this game. Really no one expects us to win, and all the pressure will be on Richmond.
Speak for yourself HBF, enough of the defeatist attitude, the pressure should be on us. These forkers are a bunch of rugby srcumming has beens, Blues by 10 goals; minimum.

[QUOTE="Antonio BlueVein, post:
JSOS is a true utility in the 1AW mould although not as quick, but is building nicely.[/QUOTE]

Sos needs to go to the same running coach that Cripps has used to improve his speed, has improved out of site with his speed and running style. SOS has got himself super fit now just needs to fix his running gait which will improve his speed just like Cripps.
