What are we thinking, is Butters a must-have?

He's bloody expensive and having him ruins my overall rookie equilibrium and leaves me with peanuts in the bank
One of the most stringbean of rookies who are in SC discussions... 71 kg at 181 cm. Really doubt he is getting any midfield time.

Now that I look at it, BScott is really underweight too. Duursma also on the light side.

Think so - don't know why anyone would start Collins over him if you were looking to bounce a high priced rookie.

Imagine starting Duursma, Butters & Drew then all 3 are dropped just before their 3rd game. :straining::straining::straining:
it looks like i'll be starting at least 2 of them so i hope that doesnt happen.
most of the talk i've seen says that Drew is the least secure of the lot.

He also has the highest ceiling imo
and is the cheapest

whats the deal with Burgess? will he make the 22 on merit or is he a place holder till they get a few back from injury?

he'll probably be a potato but i might take him anyway if he's going to get a good crack at it.

He looked alright in the first 2 JLT games, has some good hands and can kick a goal. He seems to be holding Sam Day out of a spot in the team, so he is there on merit. The interesting thing will be if other GC rookie Corbett, who is due back in a few weeks, does he take Burgess spot? Corbett from all reports was the best of the mature rookies we bought in this off season.

I have a decision to make between he and Collins. Right now I'm on Team Butters

I wonder how many rookies that we’ve never heard of or considered get named in rd1. There’s always a surprise!

Not for the first time in my SuperCoach career, Port Adelaide have provided a large portion of my rookies.
I remember one year where they had just about the only cheap defenders going and without them we'd all have been completely stuffed.

Ironically it was also in R1 against Melbourne in Hinkley's first game in charge. Names like Stevenson and Heath spring to mind.

They were such a basket case after getting smashed in the GF, particularly in the Primus years. The heat on Hinkley is a bit unfair IMO.

FWIW I'm only going with Duursma. Get Polec vibes from him. Butters, eh not so much.

I think that was in 2013. I started with 5 port rookies. Lewis Stevensen, Jasper Pittard, Ollie Wines, Kane Mitchell & Jake Neade
