Depends where his fitness is at. He csn play 3 quarters at BH but I seriously doubt he would play 3 quarters in the 1sts.

We saw how disastrous that was with Buddy.
Buddy didn't do a pre-season though. I expect chad will play around 70% game time, all up forward in the senior side

Seems like chad has found new motivation at hawthorn, mentions how he didn't watch much footy or film, now at the hawks he does.

I took note of that as well!

He mentioned that he's been watching closely; running patterns, set-ups, etc to assist his integration into the side. I hope it's something he continues to do to improve as a player, rather than just an initial 'study for a test' mentality.

I feel he might have been a bit lax at Port Adelaide.

The melts from PA supporters if he takes it too another level because he has “discovered” a love for football would be sublime - as it stands if he remains injury free I think he’s going to be pretty special

If he just continues his form from the second half of last season then we will be in for a treat.

From round 12 onwards, which was when he moved more in to the midfield:
24.25 touches
0.92 goals
5.1 tackles

Prior to this period he was averaging 16.20 touches, 1.22 goals and 0.9 tackles a game.

And that was for an underperforming team that was in disarray.

Can’t wait for this bloke to play, our forward line is going to boast 3-4 deadset match winners.

Breust struggled on the weekend against Adelaide. With Wingard by his side he will be the biggest beneficiary and it could free him up.

I still have to pinch myself knowing we have Wingard. The guy is an absolute jet.

Agreed!

Wingard has absolutely smashed us on so many occasions. His ability to weave through spaces in traffic is sublime. He also knows how to finish. His class is underestimated by many. He is the type of player who will rise to the occasion in Melbourne. He belongs on the big stage.

No player could ever replace Cyril, however on talent alone wingard isn’t that far behind.

I can’t wait to see him play.

To be honest our whole forward line benefits, we basically throw in another guy who demands the same attention and respect that guys like Rioli and Punky get, that is unbelievably value. What I liked about what Chad said was his want to bring pressure the same way others do, to me that says he is unbelievably committed.

Anyone else think his face and demeanour seems more vibrant and fresh in comparison to when he was at Port? Hair is shorter, no long sleeves, talking the team game and wanting to bring pressure. He seems a very very mature guy, I am not sure if Port was the issue or Chad was the issue but I am thinking more and more it is the former.

Sometimes a change of scenery helps. We've seen it before with footballers (and others!), it's not necessarily there is anything wrong, it's the change that helps.

Spot on, also worth noting his overhead marking capacity is elite.
In a forward line which struggles to take marks inside 50, his ability to climb mountains to take big clunks will be dam handy.
