Why the **** are people bagging Garlett? He was superb today! His poise withthr ball in hand was sublime, few times there he waited an extra second for the better option, or wore some heavy body to release a team mate.

He could deadset explode this year, Andrew McLeod style! Bookmark this post I am dead set serious.

Polson was good. He had that one **** up but played well I thought. Had a crack, created a few goals and kicked one.

Phillips put in a huge shift today, anyone going up against lycett and Ryder is in for a tough day, I thought he played well couldn’t fault him at all.

Can someone seriously put down in writing why they didn’t like Garletts game today please? I’m ****** if I know what they were watching

Does anyone think Murphy would have made 250 games at any other club? Surely he is the worst 250 game player in the history of the AFL? I never liked Gibbs but least we got some currency for him. No other club would give us a packet of chips for Murphy so we are stuck watching him.

Not going let this slide, absolute rubbish post and needs t be called out.

I really dont think playing Ed in the middle is going to change the result. And I would rather see his instictive kicks that can go anywhere sail through the goals once or twice than fall into an opposition players arms.

Wines I mentioned in another post. The other 3 aren’t missed
I agree with 99.99% of your posts Soap, 100% of the time. But Dixon is an absolute gun, massive hole for them. Only my opinion but I highly rate him.

Absolutely ridiculous - if Murphy had of played for Hawthorn he would have been a 4 time premiership player!

I think we need to clean up our defensive system as well Soap. Teams are cutting us up end to end at various times in matches this year. First quarter we were great but they also scored easily as well. Something to work on with a young team.

I reckon it’s more being able to handle it physically than the system. Time will tell

When he’s on yes. But there is lots of ordinary stuff in between and that’s why I don’t rate him as highly. I think Lycett Ryder & Westhoff is a better more consistent combined. JMO

The physical is the part that takes the longest. It cant be hurried ever. To have a side now for two games and practice matches remin basically intact shows how far its progressed. They are beginning to take the knocks and even give a few out.

He puts in short steps.
He gets found out of position a lot.
His disposal is questionable.
He doesn’t offer run and carry.
His tackling is conditional.
He operates at cruise speed.
Maybe out of position a bit, but it's his 3rd game on the role. Still learning where to be and when.

Tackling is NOT conditional.

Don't get me started on this one Plow. Take away Rockliff's 25 possession first half and the game probably pans out differently. I'm just bemused as to why they are persisting with Ed in the forward line. Put him on the opposition's best mid and let him do his thing. Surely with a young midfield group this also helps them? Makes me angry.
I think BB would be seeing what other skills players possess, can Ed play forward? No, therefore his time on the list is limited.

Game was there to be won yet we add to our ever growing tally of losses. Bolton should send a gift basket to Woosha cause 3 wins from our last 34 games deserves a lot more heat.

The best post I've read on this thread so far and it came from a Port fan. Who would've thought.
only cause it made you feel all warm and fuzzy - supporters of wooden spoon clubs tend not to do warm and fuzzy after a loss.....

Past the days where "he really tried" cuts it.

True but we also need to be realistic on where they sit in their development, fitness. What is good now, if someone isn't performing or didn't do their job they can go back and work on it in a better system. Major positive

Interesting that Hinkley mentioned we moved Setterfield onto Rockliff after half time, limiting him to 13 possessions in the second half after 22 in the first.
Educational game for Setters to follow Rocky around?

Setters only 12 disposals as a mid and looking a little underdone, again hence why i'd be open to bringing Kennedy in for him against Sydney.
Good post. Not a chance.

I can certainly understand where you are coming from, my only but is this. Dixon plays forward and most certainly takes best defender.
Ryder second fiddle
Westhoff on a wing and almost an impossible match up as a link man pushing forward, think I saw him opposed to Murph at one point.
Lycett switches with Ryder
Todd Marshall plays SANFL.
Makes them infinitely harder to defend.
Point is completely moot but Dixon makes them a more potent combination.

As does Kreuzer and Doc for us, much more potent.

All in all a great game by a defence that got smashed with 70? i50’s

weitering was a colossus yesterday.

There's no one i'm more confident with ball in hand than SPS.

our ball movement was actually pretty good at times but we had no ability to deal with the rain. their bigger bodies dominated us at the stoppages.

overall a lot of positive signs. matt kennedy would have been useful in this game and charlie would have been the forward probably most capable of having an impact in the wet so unlucky he went off.

obviously goal kicking small is still a serious concern but no much we can do about it now. needs to be an absolute priority for SOS from this point onwards.

No other coach could do better with what we have had.

The little bugger is trying his guts out.

He deserves the same time as the players to get things right.

He will raise the cup with all of us.

I just want to see another mature body in the middle helping Cripps. Kennedy may help this week but we need to remember Kennedy is also young and inexperienced

Fair enough

If the likes of LOB are playing in the 2s to "work on a few things", then maybe Fasolo needs to be given a run of 5 games there to do the same. Namely his defensive pressure and making space for the ball. JSOS can easily come into that role.

I would put Garlett in the same category albeit I believe he's showing more than Fasolo. Trouble is we probably don't have a waiting, capable replacement.

These blokes are a liability in our Seniors at the moment.
