Review Round 4 vs Carlton

This one for me is certainly a danger game. We can not go into this game thinking we are going to win and that it’s going to be a walkover. Carlton are not playing bad footy. We need to ensure we continue to bring the same intensity we have so far this season. Be clean with our ball use, hit our targets, focus on our disposal efficiency and maintaining possession but most of all pressure them into a brand of footy they’re not comfortable with, force turnovers and clangers and capitalise on their mistakes.

I think the side should remain unchanged besides maybe bringing Brodie in for Holman I think he deserves a crack this week.

Historically a game we would seem to lose or only get up on the back of A Lynch bag. Still nervous that the old Suns will be back any game now so am going into this one with caution.

Only change would maybe be Holman for Scheer. Brodie and Day put their hand up but I think Scheer is better in the forward line than Brodie.

Good to see we are actually creating some genuine depth now. Scheer, Brodie, Day, Young all close to a game and you’ve got AhChee, Ainsworth, Rankine, Lemmens, Corbett to come back from injury (plus whatever’s up with AhChee). Now that I look at that list they are mostly forward half players. Gonna be a fight for a spot.

Please please please, no change! How often do we get the opportunity to reward winners two weeks in a row... its not just about individual form, it's about collective performance...
If we win and you're fully fit, you get to keep playing... I can't imagine what it does to a team psyche' when you or your mate gets dropped after winning two in a row...
Let Brodie get 40 possies in the two's and Sam Day, kick 8 big fella... 5 doesn't impress me in the twos.. as for dropping Burgo... what!!! He is playing his role to perfection and he is a second gamer..
I know Sam Day has a body of work, but that theory only works if it is a good body of work! Let him bang the door down, for now he stays in the twos... If these guys are thinking the right way, and I think Sam does, they will appreciate this culture when they do get back in and don't get automatically dropped after a below par performance..
We all want Brodie to be a 10 year Suns star but don't drop guys to accomodate a former top 10 pick.. that is not who we want to be!!

Holman is in the side to apply forward pressure, he did not lay a single tackle yesterday and only had 7 touches. In my opinion he should be the only one who may be dropped, doesn't matter if we win if there is someone who can do the job better in the twos then you pick him.

There's 2x reviews, individual match review, and team review - just because we won, doesn't mean you reward 1, 2 or 4 players who were potentially "carried" in that win. Now I'm not saying they were carried, but individual performance should be scrutinized and looked to for improvement. You can't settle for mediocrity just because we got the 4 points.

Due to popular demand ,
Sam Day for Lukosius
Will Brodie for Holman.

And Risca/young emergency (27 disposal each in NEAFL. )

* Crossley score 3 in NEAFL maybe put him in for Burgess .

Wouldn't be sad if this happened
Wouldn't be sad if it didn't

I want to see Day get a few more hauls in the 2s before we start dropping solid contributors (i.e. Burgess). He's only played one good game in the 2s, and it isn't like he has a level of talent that demands he's chosen ahead of solid contributors, either - like the Dangerfields, Martins, Fyfes, and Swallows of the game.

Just on principle no changes - kids busted their ass for another win, win or lose reward the overall team effort

I agree with don’t change a winning team to an extent, but only as long as it doesn’t promote the idea that no matter how good you play in the reserves you won’t get a game if the team is winning. Same for the senior players, if you’re not pulling your weight but the team is winning then your safe. Would be demoralising for the guys in the 2’s playing their hearts out.

In saying that, I wouldn’t make any changes this week unless GHS is good. Then I would assume he might come in. Don’t know who for though.

I'd like to see Brodie get a chance but hard to make changes after a win.

Our friend, Matty Lloyd also tipping the loser of this one gets the Wooden Spoon.....
Aren't there 3 teams down there that are yet to win a game still?

Yeah Rightyo champ. Jeez, Maybe I should have stuck with journalism if it's that easy to get a gig these days. /s

No changes unless injury/fatigue/suspension OR someone was clearly carried.

As most long time suns supporters would feel not overly confident because you’re always waiting for the old suns to return but seeing the way Sydney kept grinding away at the blues on Saturday and the way they fell away I think it’s possible if we continue our same style of play after the first 3 rounds

Still can't see Brodie coming in for anyone other then Miles, Swallow or Miller.

I think Holman stays, it's not like he was shocking. Effort and run were there it just didn't happen for him against a highly skilled rebounding defensive group. If he plays I'll make an early call of a 10 tackle + game against the blues.

Day needs to put together a body of work in the 2's, Burgess is playing well. If any forward is down on confidence/impact it's Wright. Has the "key" target factor got in his head? He's clunking marks and linking up well up the ground but as soon as he gets inside 50 it's like a light turns off at the moment.
