Even though he’s played well of late in defence I think Impey should be used as an inside midfielder at least until all the injured players return. Maybe Henderson might spend some time there as well. Roughead too.

I actually just edited my post to say that.

We have players on the field who would be capable of going through the midfield.

Minchington would’ve been in the mix for selection if he wasn’t injured. He will probably play in the VFL next week.

If there’s even the slightest doubt about O’Meara’s injury then better off him missing a week then playing him and then missing a month because he aggregated his injury.

It’s Thursday and we play on Sunday. He’s carried our midfield for 3 weeks doing a huge amount of work. He copped a knock and would be on light duties. Doesn’t mean he’s not playing. Does that mean Scully, Roughead, Stratton, Wingard aren’t playing because they are doing stationary ball work.

You're aware his pre season was severely limited by multiple calf problems right? Not to mention he was recruited to play forward pocket.

He also looks out of shape.

While he gets fit I imagine we will see 5 minutes of brilliance from him most weeks - if so, happy punter me.

No doubt we live in a fake news era, however fake news has been going on for decades. Remember holland in the early 00s and late nineties. He was named every week for a month by memory when injured. Johnny barker as well...

I think it is the right move to take the micky out of all of us. Why disclose our true position. Just gives a leg up to the opposition. The club is doing its utmost to win games. That’s all we should care about. How they do so is irrelevant. (Unless it involves Dank:oops:)

We are just a bunch of crazy supporters. Whilst we are stakeholders, we are not in any way significantly relevant to the outcome.

In Clarkson we trust.

Assuming Roughead is selected, this game will qualify Roughead for AFL life membership. It would be his 300th game in AFL-sanctioned games (including home and away games, finals, pre-season games, state representative games and international rules games).

I expect that O'Meara will be selected tonight and then given until the weekend to prove (or disprove) his fitness.

Really quirky stat that you guys have scored 87 4 times in a row this year (13.9 x3 and 12.15 x1) Can you guys make it a 5th? (I’m such a stats nerd)
I remember you guys also had a similar quirky stat last year. I think you won by the same margin 3 or 4 times in a row if I’m correct?
Good luck against an improved Saints outfit.

JOM a real 50-50 apparently. Would be the worst midfield to ever run out if he misses.

Still staggered we didn’t take an extra mid with that pick. We’ve got nothing in reserve.
Yep gobsmacked. After Mitchell went down you would have thought they would have left no stone unturned. Worpel and Cousins are kids. So is Howe. Burgers is getting on and had hammy issues last year. Even with Mitchell and O'Meara we were vulnerable.

Exactly this. Everyone needs to CTFD. JOM has probably done more training than Buddy has the week and we all know that swine will play.

We don't need luck... we got Clarko :moustache:

Did you hear chad on SEN this morning? Categorically said that he’ll be playing forward, not sure how much truth to it but he sounded like it was a non option.

I also thought it was interesting he said he lives in Bentleigh - probably only 15-20mins from Dingley

Gotta say I'm concerned from a long-standing viewpoint that JOM looks like missing a match 3 games into the season. He's been magnificent and I couldn't ask for more from his performances, but being able to play 20+ games a season I see as a requirement given the enormous cost we paid. The injury is listed as hip instead of knee but who knows how much stock to put in that given the way the club's reported injuries in the past.

There is no doubt that you have the best record insofar as predictions, ins and outs and internal hawthorn politics. You are hawthorn through and through.

I would like to request that perhaps you could please refrain from divulging any more information, or at least be as cryptic as possible in future when dealing with selection matters. People can wait until game day or perhaps seek your advice for betting purposes in a private chat situation.

It could perhaps disadvantage us in the future. By all means, call it when a player returns (i.e a Scully or a wingard), however length of injuries or potential injuries shouldn’t be mentioned. Or 50/50s for that matter when the official position of the club is “he is playing” or “no bupa injury status”.

I’m only suggesting this, as even media outlets are onto you. You are way ahead of the curve.

Just a thought... what do you think?

KOLOKOTRONIS

Can you please explain how it will disadvantage us when:

1. He was injured last week and everyone saw him coming on and off
2. Everyone can go to training and see how fit he is
3. Selected teams come out well before the game
4. With Ratts, St. Kilda already know our game plans inside out
5. It makes not a scrap of difference to the result
6. If the oppo are in doubt, that could be a good thing.

Please keep posting your insights HR. This board has precious little info we can rely on as it is.

This pretty much describes the mood in here if JOM was to stub his toe

The issue stems from a knock on his hip he copped early in the match against North Melbourne. He spent some time down in the rooms during the game having it treated.

Let's not imagine conspiracy theories.
