Even if we only moved up 4/5/6 picks in this draft that’s not a terrible result really. How much were we gonna pay to move up for Gold Coast picks last year (understand its SA talent) and it’ll be the highest pick we’ve ever had and we will get it without having to finish bottom 2

When assessing this trade we also need to re label the generic pick 19 to the actual Liam Stocker.

A player Carlton wanted badly enough to do the trade.

And a player that apparently isn't good enough yet to play in a 0-4 team

I'll bet a top talent like him would have been on the goalline with ten seconds to go.

In: Liam "The next Chris Judd" Stocker
Out: Mitch McGovern
Seeing McGovern playing as the spare man back, yet still have the ball go over his head and bounce twice in the goal square (where McGovern should have actually been standing) was the absolute icing on the cake for me. :D

problem for carlton was the footy was not wrapped in hundred dollar notes otherwise mcgovern would have chased it all over the park

When Bowes kicked it, I remember immediately thinking "you've wasted it, there's no way the goal square is going to be clear!" and then it just bounced clean through.

Honestly, it felt like when Petrenko kicked the winning goal against North Melbourne that time. Elation. I'm not normally so mean-spirited but, eh. It's Carlton :D

I was elated too... **** Carlton! Sad that our own team can't give us that feeling at the moment. :(

Stocker isn't some shit talent. He won the best player in the TAC cup while playing nowhere near the full amount of games due to injury.
He could well turn out to be a 200 game player.

Of course he could. He's a first round selection. Nobody thinks he's a shit talent.

Yeah was supposed to be a top 15 talent but broke his jaw/cheekbone and slid.

Was a pretty big offer from Carlton, they wanted him badly.

was a big offer, might not be that big in reality.

could be pick 1 for pick 3 and 16.

lets just hope our boys can pull their socks up and start getting some Ws on the board.
pretty sure carlton will start winning some soon, they havent been as bad as i hoped or was expecting.

McGovern had just come on the ground and headed straight for the backlines. I’m not sure if he even had time to get back to the goal line.... but it is kind of delicious.

To think Mitch had a significant role in handy Adelaide pick 1 on the weekend.
We should give him a few KFC vouchers in appreciation

Setterfield out for 2 matches - tribunal. Makes it that bit harder for them this weekend against a dogs side that was more than competitive v the pies last weekend

No surprise that the Geelong w***er got away with what he did.

I'll bet if he had done that whilst still playing for us - he would have copped a ban that fast your mind would boggle and the vic media would all have been hanging him out to dry. Playing where he does now gives him immunity from all that

Bolton should have placed a bucket of KFC in the goalsquare.:drunk:
