I've been listening to a fair bit of deep house and other sort of chilled electronic music. Has been good to listen to while I work, seems to relax me a bit.

Lately I've been listening to Cuban music, Brazilian house type stuff, Vulfpeck and Khruangbin. In a pretty chill state of mind these days so my musical preferences seem to reflect that.

Been listening to the recent Muscle Shoals compilation, 'Small town big sound'. Has a cast of thousands and is a bit mixed, but some great stuff.

Tash Sultana is such a talent. Saw her at Woodford a few years back and she was such a highlight. Not only is this an absolutely kickin' tune but its a rad clip too. Ridiculous talent.

King Krule delivers again. Love the verse at the end pulled from a song from The Streets. Made me sentimental.

The last verse is from the very end of the 11th song titled Empty Cans on The Streets album A Grand Dont Come For Free. That entire album is a narrative and while there are stand alone rad songs on it, its best listened to like a story from end to end. This is the last song.

Punk rock and some other stuff.

Especially early 80s Southern Californian punk rock or bands inspired by them.

My two absolute favourite bands (in this order) are Bad Religion and Propagandhi. Propagandhi's new stuff is more heavy metal inspired but brilliant.

I like some other stuff variety is always good. I enjoy folk style music as that is essentially what Bad Religion are a folk punk band in terms of lyrics, and if you hear acoustic versions of BR songs that's what they basically are. Redgum is an obscurish Australian folk band that interests me.

I just downloaded and watched Glastonbury 2019....... Kylie Minogue!
Now yeah I know, Kylie? But the canary can sing, despite the doubters.
And as she was scheduled to be the main act for Glastonbury 2005, but had to pull out when diagnosed with breast cancer, this was an emotional homecoming of sorts.
Do yourself a favour and have a look.
Pump up the volume, set the prejudices aside, and tap your toes.
Well worth the effort.
